I don't like the way the 'ears' droop.

why twice? :?

right. the ears should shoot straight up sharply.

twice because they're different variations (of the many..).. these things can look pretty different when they get shrunk down, and the 'ink blot' effect changes too. you thought I suggest both being the one logo?

Well, Selezen asked and got first refusal to do the logo, but if you don't mind, until Selz is ready I'll use the one on the previous page.

Ah. I don't see much variation between the two, escept for the hazier circle rim.

Is it a silouette of the logo in fromt of a sun? -suggest coronal effects.

or just a logo - Suggest keeping the rim solid

Is it goint to be animated? -suggest doing a glass marble effect.

I applaud your effort. :D
I never finished drawing the logo on my childhood-bedroomwall, I got stuck on the avian head.

I was just thinking something very simple instead of all this time we're looking at that ugly set$wglogo thing.

yes corona and animation sounds good and all, and silhouette in front of a moon/sun was the idea, but also max simplicity, a little depth of field play, and inkblot vagueness. and there is the established wiki style to consider.

yes please use it until the corner is claimed.

No probs - I've been getting some stick for always being on the computer lately so I'm having to leave it alone for a bit. The occasional forum post is OK, but I can lose about 3 hours at a time drawing and writing without even realising the time has gone by...

Just to let you know, it is modelled in Wings. I was having some problems rendering the Elite logo, but it's all sorted now. Just need to stick it all together and texture it and add the text.

cheers Selz. good luck balancing your granted computer time.

here's one with better 'ears'. no corona or animation though..

Animated? Eww. There’s a time and a place… a wiki needs to be readable, not distracting.

A glint of metallic reflection of the surface woulde be great though.
like a beam of light moving over the thing from bottom to top. :D

Use
Template: name_of_temlate

I went to the wikipedia, help "how to do templates" to get some tips on layout and stuff.

Go to the appropriate non-existent page in the Template namespace, and make one up (like any other wiki page). So, for example, type in the search box:

Template:Foo

and hit enter. Then click on the red 'this exact title' link which comes up, and edit away. See some of the existing templates to see how to do it - for example, search on:

Template:Infobox ShipStats Oolite

and view its source.

First(?) spammer.

I reverted it (forgot to log in)

Still, best thing to do is to ban i.p., I guess.

If you're 'new' to wiki-spamming: watch out for activity on userpages and comment pages that seem empty... these pages *look* empty, but if you go into edit, they're full of it, it's a trick to mislead people, cursory examination doen't reveal anything suspicious etc...
