It seems to be also chopping some longer pages. For example my user page seems to be rather foreshortened from how it normally looks (and it's lost its content box). Either that or some undesirable changes have been made to a template or two somewhere.

I just looked at the revision history of your user page. On June, 10th you removed a large portion yourself... It was about time this board turns back to discussing wine

Hmm, looks like something went wrong with that last edit - it should just have been putting the tag onto the Docklights OXP. Anyway it's sorted now - thanks.

I researched a bit how to speed up the semantic mediawiki extensions so we don't run into timeouts when displaying the full dynamic ship list. It seems, a datastore that is specialized in storing and querying semantic data (vs relational data) is a valid option. Semantic MediaWiki supports two directly (4store and virtuoso) and others via a generic SPARQL interface. 4store does not seem to match our system (supports only 64bit installations but our wiki server runs a 32bit Linux installation) so I tried out virtuoso on my sandbox wiki. And lo and behold, it seems much faster.

So I asked Winston to install the necessary packages on our wiki to get some speed for the Dynamic Ship List. I'll keep you updated.

The power supply of the wiki server failed, Winston just notified me. The data centre people think they have a spare, so hopefully it will be fixed soonish. If not, things will need a lot more time since Winston is traveling at the moment and is hard to reach.

I'll keep you updated here about what I hear.
