But when our target is an incoming missile, so that we'll start by using 'Shift+T' instead of 'R', what would the correct key sequence be ? :?
I don't know. I hit either 'E' or '0' when I've got missiles incoming.

You have to find out, I guess. One question could be: do you need to keep a lock on the incoming missile after you attacked it with a missile of your own? Wouldn't you rather consider it done and concentrate on your next regular target?

If you first press 'R' to lock your target, then 'T' to lock your missile on your target, and finally 'M' to fire the missile, the target reticle does not disappear.
I lose target doing that.

Hm, something seems not right. Having made a couple of trials I also lost target. OTOH, when simply always hovering over a new target and only hitting 'M', I lost target twice and kept it for the third time. Not sure what's going on there. There may be a connection to whether the next pylon holds a missile or a mine, though.

Well, I already did... my cheat-sheet was posted above and DOES work! 8) [although some folks around here might believe it's too much of a hassle...]

I'm sensing some kind of in-depth investigation about to take shape around here...

Not by me. Too busy with other stuff, and as already stated, I'm not targeting missiles anyway. In fact I'm not using missiles ever, anyway. So I have no big-enough personal interest to start an in-depth investigation.

A few posts back we were discussing some stuff related to using and counter-acting the so-called 'fancy weapons'...

Now here's an amusing extract from yesterday's flight log - which was BTW just a short test run within a single system, while I was - as usual - tweaking log & comms messages on some scripts  :

Code: Select all

23:57:16.992 [missile_analyser]: Detected launch of a Displacer Missile, fired by Cobra Mk III: Sick Sun: Bounty:25cr
00:02:42.524 [missile_analyser]: Detected launch of a Military Missile, fired by Fer-de-Lance: Bone of Contention: Bounty:26cr
00:04:14.024 [missile_analyser]: Detected launch of a ECM Hardened Missile, fired by Asp Mk II: Bebege Maru II: Bounty:31cr
00:14:13.008 [missile_analyser]: Detected launch of a Nexus missile (premium version), fired by Python Blackdog: Suzanne's Deva: Bounty:57cr
00:19:37.352 [missile_analyser]: Detected launch of a Military Missile, fired by Cobra Mark I: Fortress of Misfortune III: Bounty:24cr
I've now **almost** learned my own cheat-sheet by heart...

Cheers
