Take an idea from one person and twist or modify it in a different way as a return suggestion so another person can see a part of it that can apply to the oxp they are working on.

Re: Oolite Paper Models
Why not just scale up the cargo pod model?Killer Wolf wrote:how about doing a big openable Coriolis that people can keep all their made up models in?!
A space station pack is on my list, but I want to do the scaled ship models first (which is kind of what led to the whole scale discussion elsewhere on the forum...)

Re: Oolite Paper Models
cos it'd be more fanboyish to have them "docked" in a station! W/ an open slot you can take your model ships and have endless fun making engine noises as you dock them

Re: Oolite Paper Models
LOL
The point where I know it's gone too far is when you mount a motor to your wall, attach the back face of the station and set it spinning. Then when you're putting your "toys" away, you can't do it unless Blue Danube Waltz is playing on the stereo...

Re: Oolite Paper Models
Try again, the link worked for me.
You know those who, having been mugged and stabbed, fired, dog run over, house burned down, wife eloped with best friend, daughters becoming prostitutes and their countries invaded - still say that "all is well"?
I'm obviously not one of them.

Re: Oolite Paper Models
Yeh, but those are FRONTIER ships. In the Frontier style.
I've done OOLITE ships. It's all very very different.
Interesting that he's given his own take on the scaling problem too. Maybe we're the same person but from different universes.

Re: Oolite Paper Models
Sorry again about double posting, but I have two things to report.
I tried to have a look at those Frontier paper models, but the link to the WIP SVG file was dead, so I emailed the guy to see if the file was still available and he gave me an updated link. The full link is
http://androidarts.com/elite/all_ton_scale_v3.svg
Secondly, to see the lengths to which a paper model can be stretched, see this most awesome of awesomenesses:

I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills

Raytheon is his user name, and he makes models like this.
