Could someone google up Blake's 'Tyger' and post it here? Young Dragonfire should pick up some culture.

(I concur about the model, Capt.Solo, nice.)

I've found it:

THE TYGER
By William Blake

Tyger! Tyger! burning bright
In the forests of the night,
What immortal hand or eye
Could frame thy fearful symmetry?

In what distant deeps or skies
Burnt the fire of thine eyes?
On what wings dare he aspire?
What the hand dare sieze the fire?

And what shoulder, & what art.
Could twist the sinews of thy heart?
And when thy heart began to beat,
What dread hand? & what dread feet?

What the hammer? what the chain?
In what furnace was thy brain?
What the anvil? what dread grasp
Dare its deadly terrors clasp?

When the stars threw down their spears,
And watered heaven with their tears,
Did he smile his work to see?
Did he who made the Lamb make thee?

Tyger! Tyger! burning bright
In the forests of the night,
What immortal hand or eye
Dare frame thy fearful symmetry?

1794

I'm assuming that is NOT the one you mean, Wildeblood. If it is, you need your head checked. This is a space forum.

Anyway, how did you find out I was 19 earlier?

That is indeed the one I meant. Back in 1794 illuminated manuscripts were all the rage.

Now if anyone ever starts ear-bashing you about comparative stylistics or some such high-falutin' guff, point your nose ever so slightly skyward and intone haughtily, "Tyger is poetry". Then don't say another word on the subject.

Now why do you say I need my head checked? You needed inspiration, didn't you? What could be more inspirational?

Mm, yes, now I remember that poem. Very lovely. Spent a week translating it to modern English as a school assignment. Incidentally, you still didn't tell me how you found out I was 19...

Okay, at this point, I'm leaning towards Capt. Solo's submission for my final vote, but we'll see what else is submitted.

And Wildeblood...download Wings and try out making a ship. It actually isn't hard, and I've never even done it before.

It is Modern English. Late Modern, even.

Hey, look, this pedantry is bringing a nice symmetry to the thread. ;-)

That was exactly my reaction, then I thought he probably means More. Modern. English.

Even so, I like that one. :D

Deadline changed to July 4th. And by the by, I may just end up posting all the submissions for voting.

Well, only 3 days, hmm...

I've actually been working on one in secret for a few days now, got the model done and am just about to start texturing it.

It's based on the Ship of the same name from FFE, but heavily re-imagined as the original was basically a flying brick, but the unique 'engine' still remains, as well as the general shape.

"Wyvern Princess" to the left, "Wyvern Queen" to the right.

the Princess is 100m long and 60m wide, the Queen 150m long and 100m wide.
no textures yet. and because of my choice of design software, i have to write my own converter tool, which i'm working on at the moment.
