I have to confess, I'm not too fond of those beacon ads. They feel a bit out of place or something. But I do like the ads themselves, so I fooled around a bit and added ads inside the dock. Basically just a proof of concept type of thing, but I think it might have some potential.

I don't like ads in real life, but shouldn't they be on the lock gate where pilots will see/read them? Of course they shouldn't distract from docking...

(I wonder how many Oolite players have noticed that there is something written (in Welsh!) on the dock walls of the Icosahedron stations and above/below the docking port of the Coriolis stations.)
"You wouldn't kill me just for a few credits, would you?" – "No, I'll do it just for the fun!"

Toying with dock ads idea a bit more. In this one, it's just one, it's small and in a somewhat logical place over a door like detail. I think it nicely adds more detail to the dock while not being overwhelming.

I also tried ads on the back wall, but they were way too dominating.

I like that, spara - not too in-your-face!
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills
And any survivors, their debts I will certainly pay. There's always a way!

Nice work! Good to avoid this:

"Here is Station Control. Before you can dock you must read through at least two of our spam messages." ;)

Thats true, but only if you don't want to sell something in reality!

Much better to have the ads as arrival screens once you have docked...
"Welcome to Lave Coriolis, sponsored by Ooshley Madison - 'Life is sh*t, have an affair'."

How about adding an ad to every transitions in the station? "Switching to Shipyard, sponsored by...", "Switching to Commodities Market, sponsored by..." Now that's advertising. You could pay a monthly fee to get rid of the transition ads. Now that would be a killer oxp.

Oolite is set in the future. So the ads should pop up on the HUD, for example during combat: "Need new missiles? Get the Faulcon de Lacy HMX5 in the new 4 + 1 economy pack!"

I'll probably have to write an ad-blocker OXP...

While testing for the Radical Logistic OXZ, I came upon a Lira docking at an old Griff-Station Coriolis. I slowed down and watched just for fun, when it adapted the rotation while approaching the docking bay...

It kind of reminded me of the following, unfortunately it wasn't a torus.
