Where IS paradox? I really miss him. I've got the horror bit covered but I could really do with some good old "carry on oolite". It may not be highbrow literature (what is, that isn't deathly boring?) but it had a reality to it, an honest earthy appeal (with some real forceful points at times).
There was a disregard; "Hey, reality and society doesn't have to be this way." Which to my mind is the spinning hub of speculative science fiction. Sure it was racy, but it had to be. It couldn't be ignored. Like the skin, bone and musculature it represented.
