Re: Screenshots
Even rarer is that you actually managed to get a reasonably well-lit shot of them..
Most games have some sort of paddling-pool-and-water-wings beginning to ease you in: Oolite takes the rather more Darwinian approach of heaving you straight into the ocean, often with a brick or two in your pockets for luck. ~ Disembodied
Re: Screenshots
Some nice shots I've taken lately...

Okay, I did get reduced to a fiery pile of wreckage shortly after this shot was taken... but I LOVE the immersion factor of my ship being hailed by name in 1.80...
Come on Starboat Pessimistic, I'm "only" carrying 159TC of cargo - I'm travelling light! (by Anaconda standards)

Indeed. That said, I totally get being addressed by the name of my ship, but some of them seem to address me personally, and I have to wonder how they know *my* name. As far as I know the only way I can currently learn the name of the pilot of any given ship (without cheating) is to destroy it and scoop the pod.Ranthe wrote:Okay, I did get reduced to a fiery pile of wreckage shortly after this shot was taken... but I LOVE the immersion factor of my ship being hailed by name in 1.80...

Flying to Ceexee or however the G1 tech 15 world is spelled. I'm always flying to the sun. Easy enough to get the planet in the way, then get closer till it almost blocks it out. It's slightly off center though... I should try again sometime

Gotta love those hot-shot Ferdie jocks:
After I'd fragged his pals, he found himself up against Mercurial Amethyst one on one - and he backed-down and ran!

I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills
And any survivors, their debts I will certainly pay. There's always a way!

Alright, time to collect my reward. And, did you notice the prices they're paying for metals and gems here? Time to party down, crash for 24 hours, and start all over again.

Re: Screenshots
Just wanted to check the board's perception of the little tweak I've come up with, in order to give a "rounder" look to the planets:
Lave as rendered by default
Lave, new
For comparison, below I have Amaza (G3), with Povray Planets & System Features Rings oxps:
... default ...
.. and new.

@Commander_X: Can you please provide a patch for your proposed change on github? Pull request is fine as well.

This was the most unexpected (but, otherwise, quite pleasant) perception I hoped foranother_commander wrote:@Commander_X: Can you please provide a patch for your proposed change on github? Pull request is fine as well.
