Quite a few potentially from Star Trek. The 'communicator' (particularly the hand-held ones from TOS) are basically mobile (cell) phones, and staying with TOS, Bones used a spray injector to administer medication rather than a syringe with a needle. Such things now exist and are in use.

surprised no one mentioned chip coins or some form of card. from many books i read as a kid. we call it PayPass in Australia just wave your ATM card to pay for things... might also be branded as "Touch and Go" ?

These individuals should have been elected, or should have acquired their position - Supreme Ruler of the Universe, Sub-District Six Waste Disposal Comptroller, or whatever - through some formal process other than force or simple inheritance.
