Well, I'm currently mapping out an EPIC oolite story. Which can get very serious at times. So I need these moments of brevity, there are lots of horrible things going on in the 8 if you have the time and the mind to find them and I do predominantly horror. As the old space shanty goes;

Chorus
For you'll, never go hungry in Butchers row.
For there's always a tasty treat.
For the birds and the rats and the insects there;
all fall on each other for meat!

Oh the hoots and the hollas and howling screams
as they spin on the scolding spit
Where lobsters fry and mothers cry
awaiting their turn to be split.

Chorus

The rebels, the scholars and thinkers who
are cut into quivering meat.
credit the chests of the ruling class.
and keep their society sweet.

Chorus

If your spacing the Row, quick trade and then go
turn your mind from the animals fate.
If you take to a stand, with a flag in your hand;
maybe you'll be the one on the plate!
The Plate!
Maybe you'll be the one on the plate!

Perhaps it seems odd to say it but I'm really glad to see non-porn chapter. :-)

It did seem kind of odd though to see TL11 referred to as "low tech level".

(sorry typing on the TV so I don't have returns!) Hmm I know what you mean. I think however there is a lot of story to be mined in this area. Not the porn specifically, more the nature of relationships in space, how they evolve and change over time. You have what 13 different sexes in the universe? According to the dark wheel novella? To be honest, if you look at the game most of it is the sitting around in witchspace. But of course thats boring. Even trying to tackle this "dead time" with porn is at least accnoledging it's existance and not glossing over it in an attempt to get to the next acton scene.

What?!?! No sex? Wait a sec.. How the hell did that happen? I must be slipping! };] And damn it, now that I think about it, 57 might be almost as bad. I will have to work on that in 58! };]

As for tech levels, TL12 is the lowest I prefer to have maintenance done at. And therefore, by association, I tend to think of anything lower as low tech. }:] Sorry for the slip. };]

LOL! I thought that in my stories, sex WAS the action scene! };] But see, you guys should speak up and say when too much is too much.

The game for me is, Fly-fight-trade cargo-repeat. I know that others can make great stories out of that, but I am not one of them. For me, the story is what happens in between. I literally play for 5-6 minutes, and then have enough information to write an entire chapter. Although, even I have to admit, they were getting a bit repetitious. But when no one SAYS anything... Then you all are just as much to blame as I am... well, almost. };]

Hopefully, I will find that sweet spot down the middle eventually.

By the way! I just realize I hadn't made any type of announcement about this... Dizzy has been editing my chapters for me. Every. Single. One! So if you have noticed a grammatical improvement, it is all thanks to him!

Also, any complaints about same, can now be addressed to him as well! };] :lol: :lol: :lol:

Thank you Dizzy!

You're most welcome.. besides, as you noticed, this way, I get to read 'em before anyone else! :twisted:

I feel for you. No I really do. Taking this job on single handed. Hours spent reading and rereading every jiggling tatty and wobbling buttock. Eradicating every last grammatical error and mis-spelt word. You are a martyr to your art sir a selfless and dedicated individual......

I hope you washed your hands before you handed the manuscripts back ye filthy space dog!

It's a good thing this is fiction. Because (and I can vouch for this from experience:) 3 is a crowd.
