I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills

They have supposedly rescued an individual who claims to possess documents that reveal this evil endeavour. Is it true? Has GalCop gone too far this time? Truth is, we don't know!

<grins> GalCop? It's Her Imperial Majesty's Space Navy they should be worried about!

Very cool looking buoy, Spara!
Most games have some sort of paddling-pool-and-water-wings beginning to ease you in: Oolite takes the rather more Darwinian approach of heaving you straight into the ocean, often with a brick or two in your pockets for luck. ~ Disembodied

Cheyd's DHNB is indeed a beautiful work of art, but I do love the ever changing flasher hues of the default one. So much that they were implemented on the station buoy as well.

A nice dark planet, showing the thinnest of crescents - beautiful!

In that image can be seen the main station, a Zieman Habitat, and an Imperial Navy regional base.

An even darker planet!
Most of the journey through this system happened in shadow, including a sizeable pitched battle between pirates and the navy. This was decidedly tense, because I was pretty much entirely reliant on my scanner and exhaust plumes to work out where anything was.

Apart from the bit where the behemoth opened up with its plasma batteries!

Keeper suggested in a pm that UPS courier might deserve little facelifting :) . This one came out quite nicely, so I just have to share. Experimenting with UPS courier asteroid texture and Griff's asteroid.

That asteroid looks great spara :D and the new buoy looks so... elegant.

Meanwhile, I've been working on some variants of the System Demux textures for Additional Planets.

Seems there's quite a difference that can be made by adding a cloud layer and adjusting the lighting a bit...

Nice spacescapes so far, how about some combat? Notice how nicely Griff's ships fit with Keeper's latest creation.

They do indeed :)

Combat screenshots look so much better since the laser 'texture' (or whatever it is) was improved a while back.

Very beautiful!

But I can't help but think that the next thing in need of an optical makeover is the plasma sparks. They don't really hold up to the quality of the other effects anymore.
