Re: Science Fiction Trivia
so not any biodome will do? it has to be the same as the valley forge?
Arthur: OK. Leave this to me. I'm British. I know how to queue.
OR i could go with
Arthur Dent: I always said there was something fundamentally wrong with the universe.
or simply

Re: Science Fiction Trivia
I heard of one used 'exactly' like the valley forges one.
Somehow i really seem to like these types of biodome's and was hoping someone knew of these kind of domes used elsewhere because
this thread is also extremely handy in widening someone's knowledge of science fiction books / films / series...
Let's say first to show a picture of ship with a look a like biodome(s) ( from film / tv series ) takes the win.

The Starlost. cant find a name for the spaceship but the poster on imdb (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0069638/) shows a ship with multiple biodomes....

Re: Science Fiction Trivia
They're the main protagonists of The Skylark of Space and sequels by E E Doc Smith. The spaceships I remember are:
Skylark
Skylark 2
Skylark 3
Skylark of Valeron
Skylark
Skylark 2
Skylark 3
Skylark of Valeron

Re: Science Fiction Trivia
Not according to the copy of Skylark of Space I just checked - the first experiment is a tub of chemicals that flies off by itself, but that's not a spaceship, after that they build a belt that lets someone fly, and a ship intended to be bait for saboteurs which they call "the cripple," which I don't think ever gets off the ground, but the first real ship is The Skylark.

The Cripple or old crip it is... it was still a spaceship even if it never flew. the fact they knew it was being sabotaged and that they put in bogus instruments to confuse the opposition is moot. It was the original plan that the skylark was evolved from.
the slipper is all yours commander.

Re: Science Fiction Trivia
OK, this one should be fairly easy...
Which familiar three-letter acronym was used for the official Time Lord organization responsible for preventing paradoxes etc., and what do the initials stand for?

Re: Science Fiction Trivia
Celestial? I was expecting chrono-something. No imagination, these writers.
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills
And any survivors, their debts I will certainly pay. There's always a way!
