I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills

Re: Screenshots
looks amazing! I love big explosions too! Has anyone here played the sol:exodus game that came out a while back? there's a nice explosion effect in it and it looks like something that could possibly be duplicated in oolite with a bit of scripting
when a ship dies it's texture switches to a generic 'burning wreck' type texture and the shader slowly eats away at the object using the opengl discard function like this
this 'burning wreck' version of the ship inherits the speed/direction from the pre-explosion version but with a slight modifier so that it veers off course slightly then explodes completely after a few seconds, looks quite neat. I'm sort of tempted to try it out in my shipset, need to look through the script wizard oxps to find the ones that switch shaders and duplicate position & rotation properties on newly spawned ships (as i imagine the burning wreck needs to be a spawned copy of the original ship)

Griff - I think that the burning wreck effect you show looks fantastic.

Re: Screenshots
Cool, Tichy... is that a Griff alt Cobra III? My newish 'Jameson' is flying one of those.
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills

Yes, with customized decals (it's hard to see them in this screenshot...). I keep changing ships, but in the end, I always come back to dear cobra 3.El Viejo wrote:Cool, Tichy... is that a Griff alt Cobra III? My newish 'Jameson' is flying one of those.

Still the best all-round ship, is the Cobra III! I've got commanders in various ships, spread across the Eight... but my main commander has always flown a Cobra III.Tichy wrote:I keep changing ships, but in the end, I always come back to dear cobra 3.

This is the first forum where I happened to find Discordians and pot-head pixies (although I think that often the two categories intersects)
