@reills: Looks good. (or should that be luks gud?)

@DaddyHoggy: Don't hold back. 80% plus of those who cast a vote either had no problem or wanted more. Even if it was the other way around it's very easy to paste pictures of dead puppies over ads that offend with their lack of space goth. ;)

You're right Doc - thanks for the encouragement.

Well here it is - or should I say "here they are"?

Off-topic but doesn't it feel a little odd since LB said he was sliding back into RL?

I've designed an add related to the oxp I'm working on and would like to post it here. But before that I have a real dumb-ass question:  How do I do that? The "Img" button in the posting screen wants me to type an URL. Does it also work with a local path on my computer or do I have to upload my .png to a webspace first?

My ISP gives me some space for a personal web, so I just FTP pix there.

Yup I use my NTHell space - although with all the ads I've submitted I wish I'd created a separate oolite subdirectory!

@DH: Yeah, it'll be a bit strange without Ursa Mi around.

Good job with the ad. :D Just keep them coming. 92 or so slots left for second set.

@Commander McLane: I usually use http://imageshack.us/ for pictures on the bb. I works fine and you don't need to register (I haven't).

I ripped all the ads from Murgh's Lave.oxp and stretched/squeezed/cropped them to fit the Terrascreens. A shame if those 8 ads were only to appear in one single system IMO.

They will be credited "by Murgh's Lave.oxp" unless somebody can tell me who did the individual pieces (whether it was Murgh or someone else).

Thanks for the link, Dr Nil!

So here's an add related to Equilibrium.oxp:

Image

(My first try to upload a picture here, so probably not perfect.)

But there is one thing with the .png that mystifies me. I have tried to use it as an image for the mission screen as well, so I used "setMissionImage: MITadd.png". And each time when trying to execute this command Oolite crashes. There is nothing wrong with my script.plist, because it works perfectly when I use another .png instead. So it seems the picture itself is somehow broken. I've even tried to c&p the whole picture into another .png and saved it under another name. Same result, Oolites crashes. Anybody any idea on that?

Are you on the Mac?

Had this problem with PNGs that worked fine on PC but caused the Mac to crash everytime when asked to display them. Had somthing to do with the settings the Image was saved from paint from, but the fix is on the Assassins Guild Beta thread near the start.

PS: Think a PNG used for a mission image must be 512 x 512. Even if you do this by putting it on a black 512 x 512 PNG.

@Commander McLane: Looks good :)

I look forward to your OXP. For future ads please submit a version in 256x128 pixels to minimize my work when maintaining this OXP :)

Having graphics software opened (because I just made two new ones myself) I went ahead and did it this time:

Two new ones from me:

One inspired by Charlie's Orb.oxp and partly ripped from this site ;)

And one for Pi-42

I have no idea about the mission screen problem. I succeeded in getting a spinning ship in the Oo-haul mission screens until I got rid of some bugs, then I couldn't get one to appear anymore :?

Looks like LB might have a solution for you though :)

There used to be a problem with PNGs which had an explicit non-standard resolution (DPI/PPI) setting. This was resolved several versions ago, however.

I couldn't get anyone at Sirius Cybernetics Corporation to explicate which of the three in this ad is the plastic pal...

Obviously it refers to the rocky outcrop behind the android, his girlfriend and their colourfull lovechild.
'pal' is short for palleolithic mass or 'old rock'
