<sniggers>The Telegraph says the BBC will "snoop on internet users" by deploying wi-fi detection vans to identify people who are "illicitly watching its programmes online". It says the BBC confirmed its new detection techniques had been authorised under legislation.
Dear lord, I thought this was a spoof. Vans? Really? What oaf thought that literally wheeling this one out again was a good idea? It's the bloody internet, for pity's sake: there are no end of lies they could come up with to diddle the bewildered. Great chunks of the population are prepared to hand out credit card payments to people who phone them up and tell them that they're from Microsoft and "they've detected a virus" on their computer.wi-fi detection vans

The United States Army’s finances are so jumbled it had to make trillions of dollars of improper accounting adjustments to create an illusion that its books are balanced.
The Defense Department’s Inspector General, in a June report, said the Army made $2.8 trillion in wrongful adjustments to accounting entries in one quarter alone in 2015, and $6.5 trillion for the year. Yet the Army lacked receipts and invoices to support those numbers or simply made them up.

Yes, same here... I wasn't shocked - after all, it's not my tax money - but I was fascinated.
