Re: Hooked again......an introduction and an OXP question.
System Redux only needs changing one single method, namely texturing the planet.El Viejo wrote:I used to run System Redux most of the time, and switch to DH-Systems occasionly, but SR does not work in 1.75, so I now use Oolites own planets (if I wasn't grounded, I would anyway). DH-Systems should work with 1.75 if you up the 'requires' level.
Just find the one instance where it says
planet.setTexture("foo.png")
and replace with planet.texture = "foo.png"
. So remove "setT" and replace with "t", add "=" and remove brackets. That's all it takes to make it 1.75-compliant.EDIT: corrected typo; of course you have to replace with "t", not "T"

Re: Hooked again......an introduction and an OXP question.
Thanks for the tips flyers. I can see why this is the friendliest forum this side of Reidquat.....is it an age thing? (I'm guessing many contributors are Elite fans from back in the day and are swiftly approaching middle-age like me)
ClymAngus - Thanks for the map links - I'm suitable impressed with the high quality cartography. Seriously though very useful, Galaxy 1 I think I can remember like the back of my hand, but the other 7 have never really stuck.
Switeck - thanks for the heads up on the out of date Dredger OXP and the link to OXP discussion thread. I'll take a look at your rebalance OXP (I already made my own more difficult start-up 'Jameson' by editing a save to start with Griff's Cobra MkI).
System Demux seems to work fine with 1.75, but I'll give Redux a go with the edits provided by Commander McLane, along with Famous Planets and Your Ad Here......
edit - can't find that string to edit in the System Redux script.js or plantinfo.plist - but it's installed and appears to be working - prettier than Demux.
THGC - do I recognise your user-name from an old Elite-The New Kind forum?
Tiled the bathroom yesterday afternoon and it's too wet to dig over the veg patch today....the other half is in work.....Reidquat here I come.....

Re: Hooked again......an introduction and an OXP question.
I have installed and tested System Redux with 1.75 and I found it worked fine with no problems in reported in the log. Am I missing something? When I tested it it was the only oxp in the add on folder.El Viejo wrote:I used to run System Redux most of the time, and switch to DH-Systems occasionly, but SR does not work in 1.75, so I now use Oolites own planets (if I wasn't grounded, I would anyway). Re: Hooked again......an introduction and an OXP question.
That's curious... I can't check now, as I'm grounded from flight ops, but last time I looked, the nebulae were there, but not the planet textures (and there were errors in the log). It's good news if it's working.
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills

Re: Hooked again......an introduction and an OXP question.
Could it be because it was clashing with some other oxp in you file?

Curiouser and curiouser... it was the only systems OXP I had installed.

Fatleaf is correct. System_Redux 1.2 is already 1.75-compatible.
I am for some reason still using v 1.1, and had to change the line myself.

Thanks McLane... I just downloaded SR again, but I can't flight test it. Good news.

Strange, initially I got an error message from SR. Post from Cdr McL has made me test again, and it's gone. I must have had versions mixed up, but don't understand how. Oh well, as long as it works.El Viejo wrote:Thanks McLane... I just downloaded SR again, but I can't flight test it. Good news.
