I spent hours trying to find a really suitable Oolite nebulae pic. In the end I cheated, and used an actual astronomical pic of the galactic centre, which looks amazing at the full res of 6000x3000.

If you haven't done so, you really should follow that link. It doesn't link you directly to the image, but to a download page which is mostly a warning about just how big the image is and what horrid things it could do to your computer It's got to be the scariest download page I've seen!

Most games have some sort of paddling-pool-and-water-wings beginning to ease you in: Oolite takes the rather more Darwinian approach of heaving you straight into the ocean, often with a brick or two in your pockets for luck. ~ Disembodied
Seeing as you dredged this thread up, I have to agree - that pic is absolutely stunning!
