I intend to finish the droid set. Any one uses it yet?

Oh and I hope now other people come up with new engine sounds!
Would be lovely to see the first really complete oxp ship. That means:

own 3d model
own textures
own shaders
own hud
own sound set.

for complete immersion.

Hi.
I just watched your BSG demo on Ootube, pretty neat stuff.
I noticed however, that the droidvoice countdown to jump is one second off.

Very, very slick! Svengali and PAGroove, in my opinion, this OXP contributes to the evolootion of this excellent game!

Here's a suggestion: while I would say for veterans the government/economy legend serves little practical use, I think that beginners in particular might find it very handy. How about pointing out this value to new users, on the wiki page? (The hotkey legend similarly would be very useful to the newbie)

EDIT: Since installing this OXP my fuel expenses have gone through the roof - I just can't get enough of the sound of the engines while fuel-injecting! :D

Yep, I know that but the 'jumping' is on time.
The droid is not equipped with a fast processor

I want to make some more sounds in the future. I probably come up with an engine pack :)

My first 1.74.1 testrun, this is insanely good.

Wow. 200% immersion. All thumbs up from me and quite curious what you'll come up with after this!

Cheers

Good to hear (yes, pun intended...)

I haven't played around with this at all yet, just savouring the defaults. In particular the ambient track that plays while docked - I've now even been doing house chores with it playing in the background :D And just generally spending way too much time docked. Docked or fuel-injecting, that's what I'm doing the most now (talk about diametric opposites!)

And the backdrops are also very atmospheric.
All in all, beautiful work! Thanks again, chaps!

Yeah… the injectors make the woofer rumble nicely. The whole package really enhances immersion.
Beautiful work! You mention a possible ‘engine pack’ in the future… a laser pack would also be cool.

Excellent idea. And if I might make a suggestion: if the core code permits it, how about different sounds for the different types? The pulse laser could get, for example, a piddly pew-pew, while the military laser could be something entirely more... "extroverted".

My new audio toy now: engaging and disengaging the witch-drive :D

'OK fine, RL, I'll be with you shortly, keep your panties on!'

Try and go experiment. I also encourage the community to come up and customize this.

I'll give it a bash - though I have next to zero of the skills required for OXP making/modding... :? But hey, what could go wrong, right? "Say, I wonder what this button does..." [Congratulations, you have just successfully divided by zero and ended the universe. Please insert next token]

Fantastic work guys! This looks and sounds really beautiful!

:-)

@Griff: What about some Griff-approved engine sounds for your ships? A Krait could sound pretty different from a Python... .-)

The only thing you need is 3 soundfiles and then a small modification on your shipdata.plist.

Code: Select all

script_info = {"engine" = "myengine.ogg"; "engineUp" = "myengineUp.ogg"; "engineDown" = "myengineDown.ogg";};
engine is the basic mumbling sound, the other are for accelerating and decellerating.

Edit: Changes to reflect latest version:
script_info keys are prefixed now with "bgs_".
