G4 … Riusbequ/Quzaarar
G5 … Zaenza/Lazaso
G5 … Divees/Tezabi
G8 … Cesees/Esusale

Market prices and in-flight screens (except f5) display correctly. It's only after docking (or after pressing f5 in flight) that the various display screens are headed with the lower numbered planet's name.

Riusbequ #217 Quzaarar #221
Zaenza #55 Lazaso #128
Divees #171 Tezabi #247
Cesees #143 Esusale #251

LANDING ON PLANET
When landing on a planet PlanetFall 1.23.oxp (or presumably any other object) the unusual f5 heading appears:
Cecees: Esusale Prime - Capital City
The commodities markets, although labelled Cecees, reflect Rich Industrial prices.

In the other cases, everything is similarly in order, except that the f5 screens are labelled with the lower numbered planet-name (and the f8 screen after docking/landing). I don't see how that could be changed without altering the co-ordinates of one of the planets.

I’ve only checked Esusale/Cecees so far, and all screens appeared to be correct, apart from the aforementioned long range thingy. Are you using 1.74.x ZZ?

no - is that "Trunk" for windows? I use Mac OS X
(but the header on the f screens is not too difficult to accommodate, I think. If there's a persistent error due to planets having same co-ordinates, I thimk a quick announcement -- similar to Hotrods OXP -- on screen would be better than altering co-ordinates: not that I thimk anyone is considering that)

1.74.1 is the latest test release for all three platforms, I think. Many of the problems with zero distance doubles are sorted in 1.74.1

Yep! That's the very pair I've used to test trunk with.

In 1.74 you should be able to select each overlapping star individually, depending on which side of the pair your cursor is approaching from...
I always just click near a close duo of systems, on the side which relates to the needed star.

Weird… now I’m getting confused. Parked up at Esusale, saved and closed Oolite.
Started Oolite, select commander page stated Esusale, but it reverted to Cecees on F5 when I'd selected the save game.
As ZZ said, the market prices were Esusale, but the label said Cecees, as it did on F5.
Once playing and jumping, everything short range seemed fine again.

Extract from savefile comms log:

Code: Select all

<string>Cecees 2085606:20:01:13</string>
	<string>Esusale 2085606:20:33:08</string>
	<string>Esusale 2085606:21:16:34</string>
	<string>Cecees 2085606:21:17:22</string>
	<string>Esusale 2085606:21:17:58</string>
If I read that right, I jumped from Esusale to Esusale... or am I wrong?

<scatches head>

zbond-zbond, there's a nice 1.74.1 download for the mac, with that one, planetfall should show the correct system name.

Wrong planet name after restoring from a save game? All going well, that shouldn't happen with the next trunk build, the one after 3 pm tonight... :P

And when you do step up to 1.74.1, update Planetfall to 1.30 as well to save log barf...

with SystemRedux installed the planets are different; they're probably different without sysR but I've never really checked - I'd previously checked the suns' colours :)

Had a quick look at Esusale/Cecees with trunk (3660) just now… all seems as it should be.
I’ll test it a lot more this evening. Many thanks, Kaks.

Had a strange one with trunk though… on one jump, after the countdown had faded away, there was no tunnel, just blackness:

Image

Quite eerie… with nowhere to go, I had to exit the game via pause and exit (didn't think to try another jump, unfortunately).
Restarted and all other jumps were fine.

That sounds like an exception occured. Do you have the log from that game by any chance?

I found myself back at the Tezabi/Divees zero-distance double in G5 tonight. That tiny little problem of the game not remembering the selected destination in F5 when saved, has re-appeared. If I go to F2 and load another commander, then repeat and reload the first, the destination has not been remembered. The same if I quit the game, then restart and reload. Everything else is fine… the two systems are not mixed up at all, as before. So off I went to the Lezaer/Esmaonbe zero-distance double (G3) to check, and all is well there… the selected destination is remembered. Odd that they should behave differently… off out now to find a couple more doubles… and have a few firefights along the way, of course.
