Well, on reflection of my
genocide spamicide in the Reporting Spam thread (I counted 200+ spammer profiles, not posts, by page 25
), a full auto seemed appropriate. Especially during last year's Spampede.
<EDIT> I also died my fur. Too many debt collectors looking for a grey shifty-looking feline.....

Ramirez wrote:f you want to aim higher, you could arrange to buy out an existing main station, perhaps one in suitably low-tech anarchy or feudal system (why not make yourself lord of the manor?) That way you get to use the features that are only available in 'proper' space stations. It would be easy to alter the system info to state that 'This station is owned and run by Commander X'.
You could, in theory, take over a whole system and be given lightly-scripted options to invest more money in defence and security, or have to take on pirates and thargoids. The ultimate aim would be to have GalCop recognise your system as a Corporate State. Wherever you go throughout 'your' system you can be hailed by the locals and enjoy legal immunity.
Sounds a bit like a Civ-Oolite!
That's a great idea in my view Ramirez

Negative...
Anaconda

Shield boosters available N/A
Military shields available N/A
so yeah, you do want to be running away

I detect a little disparity:
From shipyard.plist
Code: Select all

<dict>
<key>chance</key>
<real>0.125</real>
<key>optional_equipment</key>
<array>

Even with 500 energy, it's still gonna be a brown trousers moment.

So is there a place for a ship with enormous amounts of shields as standard, huge capacity and very slow? basically an anaconda but with 10 times the shielding?
And could the own your station idea also have some sort of trumble removal charge to clear up the regular infestations?

Need to keep it a bit fair though.
As you are considdering a refit,
maybe remove cargospace exponentially for increase in energybanks.
Same for drive. more drive = less cargo space.

Possibly, but the anaconda seems to be so hopeless that no-one would use it unless they were bored.

Install a worm-dockingbay, pressurize the hold, have a constant free for all party aboard.
consumes luxuries, liquors, foods, money for the band.
hire additional bouncers to prevent fights and damage to the 'cruising party'.
occasionally someone brings trumble to the party, a good reason to make a scenic tour to the local sun.

Well actually its not that bad...
Its a question of tactics...
Its a regulary missile boat, Quite usefull for napping Thargoids in witchspace...
Say you encounter the regulary 3 Thargoid Warships.. in Whitchspace..
Lock 2 of them with 3 missiles each...(*hardheads ofcourse) and deal death to the remaining ship with your Military laser
The 2 first will not get a chance to launch theire Tharglets.. since they launch these when they are taking damage...
The last will be long dead if your military laser is not missing a single cycle... while on target...
go scoop up the Tharglets...
Hardheads has a nice price of 150 each... what better way to spend money than to deal death to Evil Insectoids...
Even better Use an E-bomb and 2 missiles pr Thargoid Warship...
this requires nice timing though... A challenge even...
beleive me, its not boring... not boring at all.. But challenging.. yes
