Took-a-look at your GALCOP police logo very nice lettering but I believe the global co-operation it's from does not play nice in this regard   :!:
Point taken, it just was the best fitting during my image scan, easy enough to replace with "homemade" letters in the future.

does a circular GALCOP fits on top of this one? No necessarily that big. Just a hint for new players.

Dark blue ones are my favorite.
All parts of the logo are layers, so it's simple to switch on/off or modify. I guess it would fit, the question would be if its still readable. Generally speaking I think we stick with the latest version, round and dark blue, probably one with letters and one without. :D

It's also worth remembering that it's possible to have more than one symbol for something. The UK, for example, could be represented by a Union Jack. It could also be personified by the figure of Britannia, or symbolised by a lion. The USA has the Stars and Stripes, "Uncle Sam", and a bald eagle, and so on. In a multi-species entity like the Co-operative, different species may for example perceive very different wavelengths of light, so it would make sense not to get too hung up on e.g. colour. There may also be religious and/or social taboos surrounding what can and cannot be depicted.

Speaking of perceive and alien(s), were there ever any specific (alien?) fonts used in oolite/elite?
