Fair enough.. I stand corrected..
Most games have some sort of paddling-pool-and-water-wings beginning to ease you in: Oolite takes the rather more Darwinian approach of heaving you straight into the ocean, often with a brick or two in your pockets for luck. ~ Disembodied

With Macs the trick is to buy either second hand or models that are a year or two old. That way it gets a lot more affordable, and the hit on speed etc. isn't usually too bad.
