Dudes, hello again!
Good news is I'm back cruising the Ooniverse and cleaning up the space lanes.
Bad news is that my old laptop died fatally and with it went my 2000 kills and my iron-assed Cobra.
Ah well. I'm back on the trail and I'm up to 606 kills again and counting.
My son has just laughed at me as I sat here flying around and commentated on a dog-fight. "Only 5 of you? And you still want to go? Well OK but the 4 of you won't fly away from this you know. None of the 3 of you are good enough. Not you or your one remaining mate. Yeah go on! Run if you like, solo, but you'll still.......BOOM! 5-nil to Nellers! Will you never learn?"

Backups, man.. backups...
A simple method is to have your oolite-saves folder auto-synced with Dropbox. Then you'll never lose a gamesave again.

Lesson learned, guys. The good thing is, though, that being a lower ranked pilot but with more experience I've been able to rack up the kills pretty quickly.
