Surely, if you were to design a cannon, it would look like a cannon? Perchance you meant to say 'canon'? :P

Oops! I blame lack of coffee on that one!

Smithy - That looks fantastic really well done.

I have been a little preoccupied lately with real life but hope to be back to building ships shortly.

Damn real life, keeps getting in my way too! :D I must admit that I haven't seen your ships yet, just about to head to the Wiki to check them out :)

TMI? Sorry! Next ship I'm working on is the Viper Interceptor, I've been pulling my hair out a bit over this one, but I think I've got the main issues sorted, question, reds and blues? Or is that too gaudy?

Cheers,

Smithy

Lovely work on the Krait and the Asp (amazing detailing!), are the renders done in Sketchup? they look great, i really like the glossy sheen they have!

I rendered them using a plugin for SketchUp called Irender NXT, problem is it was a trial version I was using and it's just run out. I don't have $400 bucks to blow on buying it so I'm going have to find something else, maybe try and get my head around blender or something.

Smithy I'm glad you like them.

I have another ship OXP, (The Arachnid Mark 1), which I will be releasing once I get some time. It is my first attempt at a 'traditional' Elite style ship.

If you are looking for a new modelling software package Wings 3D is a good option. It's free and powerful but best of all is simple to use.

I love using SketchUp, I find it to be the best or at least easiest modeling tool to use. The problem is it only has really basic texure tools and no native rendering software so I'm trying to find a free plugin that I like. I have Wings and I can import SketchUp models into it, so if i can figure out it's texture and rendering tools I may use it :)
