I'm a bit lost here...
I assumed you meant you just draw the scanner with 3d coords then sort of tilt it a bit so it looks like the current one.
I can't see what the difference would be in terms of using it - wouldn't it just look the same, perhaps with slightly smoother lines and less chunky lollypops?
