EDIT: It's hard to see the nameplate at all on my screen, so it's up in the air. One thing I did was add a layer of greyscale camouflage to my paint job. Gives it a nice Naval Reserve look.
Rese249er - i don't suppose you have a screenshot that you could post do you. Your constom texture sounds interesting

My custom Serpent so graciously provided by GalTech, now with a custom stellar camouflage paintjob.

Oh, she is! Old-school military injectors from before the update to take the Newtonian slide out, plus the turrets which can always bring at least two to bear with a steady knocking till the fore laser recharges. That's in addition to shield equalizers and fore and aft shield capacitors.

Tough Guys 3 at Armageddon level provides a great, constantly hostile environment to keep it with a healthy level of wear and tear, though.

EDIT: Experimenting with different camo patterns... Here's a new one.

Rese249er - This texture also looks good.

The only comment that I haveis that the emission map doesn't appear to be working. Is this an intentional change ?

If not it is probably to do with your customised Serpent and the standard Serpent oxps using the same emission map name.

I came across something similar which I resolved with the steps noted in the addendum to the instructions posts earlier in this thread (See below) i.e. (In your case you would probably want to rename by replaceing the Thargoids Bane to Sic Vita Est

1) I renamed the emission map in the Texture folder from serpent_glow to Serpent_Thargoids_Bane_glow
2) I then opened the shipdata.plist file in the Config folder and changed the code on line 25 from

Code: Select all

<string>serpent_glow.png</string>
to

Code: Select all

<string>Serpent_Thargoids_Bane_glow.png</string>
Let me know if you have any problems

Will do. I'll post with that along with a new pattern to consider.

So, 400.000 cr cash and a well equipped Python to sell.

Serpent Cruiser, here I come!

Yesterday I saw one with a naval energie unit. More than 800.000 cr!

Hober Mallow - I think that you will find the Serpent a good all round ship able to balance a sizable cargo capacity with a good combat capability and a good choice of upgrades (That was certainly the intent when designed this ship).

The scoop view is also great to ensure you easily put up cargo containers etc.

Hope you like it

Got it!
Today I bought my brandnew shiny Serpent Class Cruiser!

Christened it "Empty Wallet" :D

(Is "christened" the right word for giving a ship it's name?)

Welcome to the club! Yes, 'christened' is the right word, I believe.

Thumbs up! (And fingers crossed that it doesn't break after just a couple of hours…) :P

Sorry to hear it. And even worse: the Salvagers' (in)famous One-Gunfight-Guarantee™ probably won't cover it. :P

Although there was an equal chance that it would've worked just fine permanently (damage sustained in battle notwithstanding).
