Ooh, nice tactic! I'd never thought of something like that!

That, my friend, is why I'm *elite*. :D

Any thoughts on how to destroy something of this size?
I'd probably shoot where the cookie looks like it has a bite taken out of it! Could be a weak point. :)

I have shot every missile, bomb and drone I could get my greedy paws on and it still remains! I unloaded a full payload of nukes shortly after I saw ten hard heads hit it head on and it never sparked! But this Honourable member of The Guild of Master Test Pilots (https://bb.oolite.space/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=10582) shall not be deterred by such trivialities. We shall find a way even if it means the ruination of all life in the system we shall vanquish this foe!

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot! Now that's one hard-assed roachcoach. Tried dumping your cargo load in front of it then bombing it with a couple of cascade torpedoes? I've witnessed the glorious kaboom of a cascade torp attack bring doom to Thargoid carrier groups, so this thing cannot be infallable.

Failing that, play hardball with a killit missile.

Sounds like time for the ASC Weapons Division to create something stupid ;)

Everything has a weakness. Sometimes the secret is not to use force, but to use subtlety. A small force applied in the right place will often achieve more than massive force applied indiscriminately.
Just a thought

So you're saying if the beast is too exhausting to kill, go for disabling it with precision fire?

...Then call in a large Naval bomber squadron to finish it off!

The Q-bomb tactic will work if there are other ships nearby, minesweepers can be gotten around so long as you can target something just out of their range, the effect will spread to your intended target. It's a tactic I've often employed in Galaxy 7.....

It depends on the range of the minesweeper

Now that's what I call an asteroid swarm... weaving through them on torus is a great way to relax after a tough patrol:

That is one nice pic with a few glowies as well. Did you visit the restaurant while you were there?

(Please hold Groans until end of surmise) Thank You

Has anybody taken a thought about taking a small, fast, agile ship loaded with nuke torpedoes, getting in close, skim the surface, find that elusive sqare meter unguarded, unshielded vent that goes to the nuclear core in the center. Praying that he is a better shot than usualy, dumps the nuclear missiles down the vent and then puts full throttle and gets his escape?

Worked for Luke..

Now you can groan.
