In future I may remove that error message.
A better option would be to remove the step if it's not on the master branch. Not sure if that sort of logic is possible, though.

I placed the change on a branch to see the last step gets skipped, which it does:
https://github.com/OoliteProject/oolite ... 6675521460

But as the branch was behind master I just decided to add that line without PR/Merge:

@timer: Would it be possible to update the official oolite.space with the new favicon.ico file that was uploaded to oolite-web\only-static yesterday?
https://github.com/OoliteProject/oolite ... avicon.ico

It looks like the favicon is updated - thanks for that! I think we could include a news item at this stage, but someone with access to the site should take care of it. Maybe something along the lines of "We are rebranding - following the new https://oolite.space/ site, next up is an updated logo. Keep an eye out for our brand new red and silver badge - this from now on will be the reference to the future, improved Oolite."

@another_commander, please write the text of the news - I or @hiran can add it to the site )

But be aware the HTML files that get published now are not stored in any repository. They are generated on the fly via some action - both for the oolite-expansion-catalog and meanwhile for oolite. Would we have to direct them into some repository before we can deploy them via the Cloudflare app?
I hope - not.
hiran wrote: Thu Oct 19, 2023 7:53 pm
Ok, the real answer is that we need to install the CF App if we want to publish to Cloudflare Pages.
Do we have any restrictions there we need to be aware of?
Right now I can't give an exact answer :(
hiran wrote: Thu Oct 19, 2023 7:53 pm
Yet right now we have several shards, and it would be nice to have them available at a central location. Be it within one site linking to all the shards or placing them all on the same domain - I do not care much.
agree

Now I conducted an experiment - I tried to configure GitHub Pages for oolite-expansion-catalog on the artifacts.oolite.space subdomain (the easiest way), but as far as I could understand, CloudFlare refused to make two CNAME-type records on the same host ooliteproject.github.io (the first entry is for addons)... I got looping and redirects... now I'm puzzled... I have an idea and I need to check it out.

PS @hiran, sorry for answering your questions so late  but I really should have tried something before answering you.

Try that idea. I am interested to see what it might be. You should have enough privileges on oolite-expansion-catalog. :-)
And if it does not work we can still place links to the shards into the main site.

Unless someone has a better idea for something more PR-oriented, I'd say go with the short paragraph blurb I posted earlier.

Just gazing forlornly at Oolite.space

The advertisement for Oolite Starter reads:
Latest News...
OoliteStarter has been published. It makes installing or managing the hundreds of available Oolite expansions an adventure of it's own:

Allows installations of the expansions from our new site https://oolite.space
Visualizes the known interdependencies or conflicts of expansions
Allows the sharing of expansion sets with other players - or your future self!
Remembers which expansions were installed when playing/saving a game
I found this a tad too jargon-laden for unconstrained comprehension. And Saint Giles alone knows what happens when Google Translate lets rip on it!

Here is an alternative
Latest News...
OoliteStarter has been published. It makes installing or managing the hundreds of available Oolite expansions an adventure of it's own:

Downloads expansions (oxzs) from our new site https://oolite.space
Shows both needs and known conflicts of expansions
Records expansion sets for future use - or to share with other players!
Reload your saved game together with the unique mix of expansions you played it with
Others might be able to improve on this further

I would also like to get something like this on the expansions page:
Expansions are created by community members and are provided as-is, with no warranty or guarantee whatsoever, and are not endorsed or vetted by the Oolite development team. Please take the time to read the information about an expansion before installing it.
Again, open to tweaking this and improving it.

I think it is perfect. +1.

Just thinking about the screen shots on our website.

It was suggested earlier that we could use these to advertise OXPs, listing the relevant OXPs.

So how about these:

1) Vanilla game screenshot of ship approaching/docking with station

2) Vimana-X HUD and Povray Planets*

3) Xenon HUD and Behemoth and Planet Rings

4) BGS witchspace jump (spiderweb version)

5) Tionisla Chronicle Array and FPO Tionisla*

6) Commies with SLAPU and some Commie ships

7) F3 screen showing Equipment 'Sell Item' Color and New lasers

8) F8 screen showing XenonUI and Market Observer

9) Hints

10) a couple of shots with Extra Planets, nice modern ships and stations (Globe? Hathor*? in them)

11) Tianve v.2.0

I'm trying to choose screenshots featuring good graphics and/or helpful OXPs

* => OXP only, not on the Expansions Manager
