Darn... late to the party as usual and now it's finished.
Is there per chance, any way to listen to old shows?
Like an archive or something?
A somewhat "in character" broadcast is something I've actually been wondering about, it would really add to the immersion on long hauls.
The other thing along these lines I was wondering about (I do tend to wonder a lot) is voice chat... like vent or teamspeak or even skype.
Like a galactic cb radio of sorts, IRC is cool but alt tabbing out can be a pain.
Would it be possible do you think to integrate IRC ingame via oxp?
I come from an mmo background mostly and while I've always been a soloist at heart that social aspect of feeling connected to other players while in the game is something I've always liked.

Yep... just click on one of PG's
Gravity Waves banners. My 'archive'
disappeared in a clear-out in my Box!

A socket class would have to be created as well something like terminal class for the actual I/O.

Well thanks for everyone for their nice words.
If I am feeling up to it I might do the odd show now and again like at Xmas.
To be honest it was starting to be a bit of a ball and chain. But on the plus side I can get on and work on more OXPs.
If people want I may turn the previous 19 shows (where appropriate) into Youtube Playlists.
Regards,
Phantor

I like the Xmas show idea
Maybe a show for special ocassions is the way to go, and of course anybody else can do one if they want to...ha, I might even try one myself!

We could take turns hosting shows, come to think of it

I might have the start to a good play list, about how much "air time" should one shoot for in making a show? Are there any particular stylistic parameters, or can it be any genre of music
(I know PG had a style in his shows)

Pick your style and genre (or mix it up) - about two hours is the norm. Don't forget a little DJ banter/track-info.

Cool. I've got an ecliptic taste in music, but I'll make it a singe style show, as I have something in mind. I can't say I'll have something by this Thursday as that doesn't leave me a lot of time, but I can commit to next month, 4th Thursday

Good - don't forget to clear it with the bar manager (PG) first, though. If you do a promo advert for it, please remember tradition and put it under the auspices of Radio Sombrero (as PG has graciously continued to do). Pick your own DJ handle, though - and keep your hands off the bar-girls!

Although now he's got me wondering what an ecliptic taste in music would be like. Must have to do something with
this… or
this…?
