The way I see it, the whole point of an advert is to try and persuade people to buy a product. If internet advertisers can't even persuade people to watch their adverts - to the point that people are going out of their way and installing blockers to avoid them - then they're clearly not up to the job, and companies shouldn't waste their money on such things.

Added to that, non-internet adverts are not generally risky to view, whereas malware delivery by ad network is incredibly common. I don't have an ad-blocker as such, but the security addon for my browser functions as a highly effective one by blocking 3rd-party Javascript by default.
