I first noticed it with 1.74. But Can't say if it was in earlier versions. Try sun skimming and watch your ship go from cool to a brilliant almost white glow before it blows. The trick is to time the injectors right so you can see yourself cool down again afterward. Just watch the trumble barbeque!
Wow! I'll check it out - love sun skimming with injectors (scoops up at speed!) and then witch space jump.. awesome.

Built-in ships have done it since 1.71 (in full shader mode). I don’t know when Griff’s started doing it, but it wasn’t very recently.

Just noticed another cool thing which I am also not sure when it first appeared! View your ship from the outside and fire your laser till it overheats and see if you notice something...

I take my hat of to the "wizards of dev" and all the OXPers 8) this game just keeps getting beter and beter. :D

I wonder what else is yet to find... :D :D

Bah! This screenshot thread is in need of more screenshot!

Some casual scenes from the Ooniverse. Bring back any memories?

Silly Fer-De-Lance owner, Piracy is not the answer!

A quiet moment pondering a spacer's defining moment. His ability to dock manually.

A naval battle group greets me as I make my way to the naval station in search of reserve missions.

Yeah! Love those shots - Well done OneoftheLost - you bring back memories!

Check this out:
I'm happily blowing away a Fugitive Sidewinder and my computer picks up a "Splinter" as I blow through the debris at close range... so I head off to the Station and guess what I can see in the rear view.. check out how far away that Splinter is!

Hmm.. long range scanner eh!

I think that will be the more noobish question ever. How do I post my screenshot ? I can't see any place to upload a file.
EDIT: I get an error message "It was not possible to determine the dimensions of the image."
I use Flickr

You need to upload to an image site like photobucket or imageshack, and then post link using:

Code: Select all

Edit: Oh, I think I learned this when someone else asked exactly the same question a while back  (being to shy to ask myself).

Specially when there's a good reason. :)

Ok, I am stubborn.

As I can't get it, look at the link: http://www.flickr.com/photos/59450711@N08/5536805387/

"DRIVE MALFUNCTION..."
Shot a couple of Thargoid warships and then I discovered not one but 2 generation ships. I did not know we could find 2 of them.

Makandal,
Make sure the image isn't too big. A full-size screenshot will be too large...normally about 900px wide is big enough so scale it down a bit if necessary, and make sure it's a normal file type eg .jpg, .png something like that.

Not sure Makandal, I've been using Photobucket.

Here's another - Slowed down before attempting to dock manually while "outside" the Cobra.

Oops - pressed "fire laser" instead of "speed up" and got bumped by a Viper flying out at full speed. Check out the 'dent' in his jet plume. The next one knocked me out of the way BACKWARDS, wished I got a shot of that too!

Great shot, moments before I was looking at a classic elite wireframe screenshot, what a difference!
