A Yacht! One of those mega-buck super-yachts the rich and famous own. You described this without giving it a name so what if it not a (small) ferry or (giant) Liner, but a yacht for those who don't have to use either.
Player-buyable would make sense, as would a price tag of around Cr.24,000,000.
I think you nailed it!
Even your price tag fits.. we could claim the D.T.T. catalogue price is the bare-bones craft, without the suitable-for-royalty luxury fitout. (which is more or less what it says)
Most games have some sort of paddling-pool-and-water-wings beginning to ease you in: Oolite takes the rather more Darwinian approach of heaving you straight into the ocean, often with a brick or two in your pockets for luck. ~ Disembodied

I certainly like the ideas behind the reskins. And it brings much more variety.
There is only one point of criticism and that is that the whole texture seems recolored. That is not a real problem because they have to have a new light map. I mean it looks as if the shaders are removed (the texture looks monochrome except the colored bits)
But as I said I like them
What do you think Smivs?
Edited to add. I especially having this point on the first 2 variants. The white peal has to be a little more white and in contrast it has to have the blue lights ( think).
Without actually seeing them in-game it is hard to judge them in terms of lighting and texture, but I do agree a bit more work might be needed based on the screenshots.
This is your baby, P A Groove, so you get the final say. Would it help if cbr sent you all the files so you can have a more in-depth look? Perhaps also have a word with Griff as I believe he was responsible for the shaders etc.
Regarding Markets, while I take your point, I am personally not generally in favour of manipulating markets as this always seems to lead to some exploit cropping up. The Liners are less prone to this than a station of course, but we would need to think this through carefully. Do you want to post some specific suggestions so we can start discussing it in more detail?

Well I certainly like the variants. I think they only need Shaders and then most things are fine. But @cbr. Could you send the textures to us?
You can post the link in this topic so we can grab them.
@Smivs.
While I certainly agree with you on the exploit thing I feel that the Liners must fulfill some role besides eye candy. And if it is not a market then specific liners missions (missions that you can only get from a liner) would be cool. It would give more of an incentive to dock at a liner. In the past we've also discussed that it would be cool if a liner jump from system to system and that you could lift on to another system when docked. Then it wasn't technically possible. I don't know how this is now as a lot has changed. For example you can now also save your game in non-main stations.
But basically my wish is that the liners become more of a destination instead of a decoration.
One can set the cap for commodities, so it can be used for a "resupply" service for instance? Instead of having to carry shuttles, Liners could "outsource" various jobs to local spacers.
Another kind of service that I think would fit well is passenger contracts, or just in-system taxi. Either one-way (Liner-station) or two-way (station-Liner). This would only be interesting to those having passenger berths though. Exclusive parcel contracts maybe?

I like those ideas. Or specific missions to buy certain amounts of goods in the region. And shuttle passengers.
