Rumors has it that Ad-X has been buying up heaps of used CMK3s which have been repainted and fitted with the new Terascreen Ultra Slim Technology and that these ships are about to be released for sale to pilots who want to save a buck by having a partly sponsored craft.
There are ads inside the docks of the Pi-42 convenience stations already - both in set 1 and 2 (but the Pi-42s don't appear atm unless running with set 1 - set 2 is still officially unreleased until the last 14 tick in).

Unfortunately subentities are added with their name not their role. It would be a nice thing with subentities added through roles as it would make it very easy to put ads etc inside system station docks without interfering with the oxps replacing the system stations.

I recall I once had the wish to build a shipdock.
Giles gave an example of how I could vary the docking-bay occupations, by having a series of subentities that were interchangable.

...in the shipyard thread probably.
Couldn't find it. Please post or PM link to the thread, if you come across it.
I do remember reading some wishes for a more Frontierish docking procedure somewhere. I'd like anything to replace those misplaced witchspace tunnels within docks.
EDIT: I found the thread where the implementation of a cooler docking sequence was discussed. It's HERE
It doesn't look like any of it was ever implemented. I wonder if it would be a big project for a coder to have the game add subentities by their roles instead of their shipdata entry name... If such a thing was possible.

Two more - for those not based in the UK this is rather topical at the moment and hence my inspiration...
@Doc - it's your oxp but a thought - perhaps Tescoo could start taking over Pi-42's selling of course cheap supplies (cheaper than the main station) especially food and drink and fuel - thus creating traffic problems between Station and WSB...
I did do a little research on supermarkets and convenience stores in the UK before settling on a well known American chain instead for the convenience stations (double-O. H Smith could well be too cryptic) I don't mind the game having a lot of British 'flavour' (not a spelling liked by my Am-Eng spell checker). I find rather charming.
I did consider to put supermarkets into the expansion (Tescoo would . But those would be close to the station and like you suggest have bulk quantities of cheap goods. Pi-42 is more into having it all but in small quantities and at higher prices (like 7-Eleven).
Tesco and Lidl might look big until Wal-Mart decides to consume Europe. But if we get supermarkets in the Ooniverse, let's have your Tescoos rather than the confusingly named Wool-Marts.

I noticed the colour scheme of the Pi-42's and presumed it was inspired by 7-Eleven. Having lived in the US for a time and shopped at the 7-11 it made me smile the first time I docked with one...
You're right about the "market positioning" of the Pi-42's and perhaps big PI-42 like stations in Tescoo colours near the main stations instead...
Also, smaller Tescoo Oxpress shops near the PI-42s and a gaggle of small ships (worms, shuttles?) clustered around it thus making the drop out of Witchspace somewhat hazardous (a bit like my local supermarket on a Saturday Morning!)
Finally, perhaps rebranding (texturing) some of your Oo-Haul ships in Tescoo colours making supply runs into systems that have a big Tescoo Station and/or out to the Tescoo Oxpress.
Again, all just mullings...
BTW, I like "OO H Smith" it made me and is very British!
