Re: [Release] Market Observer
It would appear from the first post in this thread all you need to do is install the oxz and it becomes available and costs nothing.

This OXP does not declare any equipment that you could buy at any techlevel. So I assume it is as @CaptSolo already stated. You just install the OXP and the functionaltiy is available.

Re: [Release] Market Observer
I didn't like how when I had a mad number of cargo contracts going that the amounts for Gold/Platinum/Gems could almost overlap with the for sale amount.
So I edited Market Observer's Tab stops for displaying that page...
It's in the gui-settings.plist file inside Config folder. (Have to unzip the OXZ first to access this!)
I changed from:
"market_tabs" = (0,101,227,307,326,431);
to...:
"market_tabs" = (0,101,227,287,326,421);

Re: [Release] Market Observer
If anyone else uses Market Observer...
Is the F8 Market page practically unusable even for showing what cargo you have while in interstellar space?

Re: [Release] Market Observer
I use it religiously, but with a number of other market-based oxp's too:
In System Trader (Dr Tripsa)
in system traders (Spara)
Illegal Goods Tweak
Risky Business (phkb's newest version with Risk-based Economy incorporated)
Smugglers
BlOomberg Markets
Market Inquirer
Mineral Store Reset
SW Economy
Ye Olde Hermit markets
There is occasional overflow, but it never seems to be too big an issue, so I've yet to nail down the causes.

Re: [Release] Market Observer
I will be testing some more with as few OXPs as I can stand, including a few times without Market Observer.
I expect there's a column tab screw-up due to the market items simply not existing at a station in interstellar space.

Re: [Release] Market Observer
I use MO and MI all the time testing and playing Elite Trader, and I've never encountered any 'formatting' problems. And I couldn't live without them: I almost consider them part of ET! So all thanks and homage to Brother Spara.
Dor 'call me Grocer' Reval (a Xexedian Laver) was always considered a little backward.

No formatting problems even in interstellar space?

Not that I've noticed, but now I will be extra-vigilant while testing.

Re: [Release] Market Observer
If you mean that the "Purchases" column overlaps with the "In hold" column (not column headings, but their values), then I can confirm this, I have the same, both with my usual OXP mix and on a vanilla game with only Market Observer installed.
Re: [Release] Market Observer
Yes, that exactly describes my problem.
Finding a workaround/fix for this is not going to be fun...
Re: [Release] Market Observer
Is this overlapping a problem with trunk or something? Version 1.90 seems to work just fine. I just fired it up and checked the F8-screen, did not actually play.
Re: [Release] Market Observer
In interstellar space is the key situation where things don't line up.
Seems to work great at regular systems/main stations.

Re: [Release] Market Observer
There is a complicated issue with Spara's indispensible OXP.
It arises when one has bought a commodity and then this commodity has been removed from one's hold (eg: Removal of slaves by the Illegal Goods Tweak OXP or to enable one to deliver other commodities on a feudal mission by Feudal States OXP).
In such cases the purchase price is still displayed on one's screen and it can look as though it is still in one's hold.
I run my eye down the outside column to see what is in my hold. And so it seems at first glance as though the computers are still there!
Is there an easy fix for this? Perhaps displaying Removed! instead of the purchase price? Or (better) (Removed!) after the purchase price?
Or does this require torrid tweaking with each individual OXP: Illegal Goods Tweak OXP & Feudal States OXP etc.?

Re: [Release] Market Observer
May be difficult for Market Observer to promptly detect and respond to cargo being removed by another oxp that uses the player.ship.removeAllCargo() command.
