Hah! The hud works great!
Jump the que! I tried that once. Should probably add that experience to the Darwin Award's thread.
I think they could hear the 'splat' in galaxy 8.
Smiv, that made me laugh, I've never had one jump past ME. Never thought about it from their shoes..er..landing gear.

This is what can happen if you jump the queue... hey-ho!
and that was probably me, dodging in front of Smivs.

I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills

Ouch!
Hopefully the fee is based on how much credits are in your account. A flat fee of 1000+ is kinda steep.

Well, you can easily avoid it and happily jump the queue by simply not activating the 'docking clearance' option (for instance by not installing the appropriate OXP).OneoftheLost wrote:Ouch!

Re: Screenshots
I like that docking que oxp.
I think it adds a lot of realisim to the game. I certainly don't mind waiting up to 30 mins (in a busy system) to dock.
It gives me time to make a drink.
Although it is a bit annoying when it tells me that I am next in line, then the next message says that I am 18th in line whilst LAUNCHING ships have thier turn lol.
Whilst I am waiting, it does give me a good chance to do some ship spotting.

Well, one doesn't always have the time for little things like docking queues. If (by some minor misunderstanding) the local Vipers are shooting at you or some other nitwit decided to open fire on you while you're in the station aegis, it's better to just dock before somebody gets hurt. Doesn't take fancy docking computers, just injectors and a bit of practice.
Of course, very occasionally, some silly Jameson may launch at that last second without looking where you're going. I've had a few "Darwin moments" that way. But sometimes, you manage to miss them...Even if you *did* come close enough to count the rivets on their hull. Ah well, good practice for the reflexes.

Reminds me of the time a few days when I launched and immediately got bumped up the backside, quite hard, and was pushed right out of the way. By a GalCop Viper! Just can't get the staff anymore.

Re: Screenshots
A mother ship smack in the centre of the planet with the sun in eclipse behind with a circle of escorts in the corona, who will be first to snap that one?

Re: Screenshots
This new feature, the escort formation thing… I presume that it’s something for an oxp to arrange, yes?
It’s a far more ‘realistic’ formation for escorts in space… any chance that npcs will adopt this in the core game?
Ideally, for a six ship escort, you’d want one on point, one trailing on the mother’s ‘six’, and the other four arranged in a circle, as in Eric’s pic.
