Hotmail.org is real, but it’s just a web redirect. There is no DNS MX record. We had about a dozen nonsense-name accounts associated with it.DaddyHoggy wrote:I noticed you'd banned gmail.org (http://whois.domaintools.com/gmail.org) and hotmail.org - is that the entire domain? Is hotmail.org not a genuine M$ one? (or is it that we're getting a flood of spammers coming from it and therefore genuine or not it has to go?)

pgvw: https://bb.oolite.space/memberlist.php?m ... ile&u=4882
again, no firm evidence, but googling "Viewing profile - pgvw" (no quotes) does throw up some nasty stuff in some of the site summaries. It might just be an unfortunate coincidence though: "pgvw" seems to be young-person-type text-speakery for "pageview". In MY day, we used vowels.

Well yes, one doesn't want to alienate the youth (for they are the future) but they make it so difficult sometimes to identify themselves as human.
Kind of like a reverse Turing test.

Ghevat test? Maybe? Where the human tried to respond in a way, a badly programmed computer would?

Thanks D... that one had been using hotmail.org until recently. It's IP is now banned.

This one came online when I was around before - at that time IP and email were OK on SFS - will check back later - just in case...Disembodied wrote:Another one making me twitch ...

As a moderator I noticed there was a payload from a spammer waiting to be approved when I logged on this morning - I'm presuming only Moderators can see these posts?
