I may have mentioned this before… I wish it was possible to map the screenshot key to a stick button (without installing any extra software, that is)… it’d be great for dogfight pics.
Since Christmas is not too far away, here is a present: r3844 gives you the ability to map the snapshot key to a joystick button.

So, we are now waiting for the dogfight pics...
What the f… you’re a diamond, a_c! I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again… you guys amaze me!

Dogfight pics, eh? I’m sure I can find a nice little firefight somewhere… as the old saying goes:
I don’t have to look for trouble… I know where trouble is!

Happy Solstice!

A ‘pirate’ Griff Constrictor... it was busy raiding a trader, and didn’t notice me on its six... ’til it was too late:

How could you keep up with it to get on its six? injectors?

I snuck up on it, while it was attacking that poor trader. Its been modified to use a normal pirate AI, so its behaviour is a little different from the ‘mission’ Constrictor… as you can see from its drive plumes, it’s only cruising, and I’m running at roughly 70% on main engines only.

It appears rarely in my game, and it’s even rarer that I find one attacking another ship… it’s normally attacking me, in which case there’s little chance of getting up close on its six, or of getting a good pic.

I came across one of my new 'flamey' Python Blackdogs today, and the pilot (cowardly knave!) ejected, so after I collected him I had a chance to take a snap before 'liberating' his cargo.

Good ship! The pilot's out, the engine's dead, but the spotlights are still working!

I was testing the ‘stick camera’ in trunk… I’m learning how to manipulate the stick, pull the trigger, and hit the snapshot button at the same time… it’s tricky.

Whilst mining in the Leesti system I took this screenshot of an asteroid on a collision course with Leesti Prime.

Good pic, lave... I like what you've done with the Fighter Hud.

Formations

Post by Killer Wolf »

On many runs to Zaonce, a massively cop-populated system, for some reason, i came across some gorgeous formations :
found a Vampire leading a V of Vipers towards the planet :

another run, another lovely formation :

sadly though, some people don't think these formations are nice : this, i believe, is the very definition of "deep sht" : -

dunno what they did, but they didn't have long to consider the error of their ways!

Three fantastic Screenshots - given the random nature of the game's system population it still amazes me such things occur...

DH - Zaonce is fecking TEEMING w/ cops : go the space lane route and you'll be constantly masslocked by them, and they always travel in multiples. there was at least twice that the first pack i came across was a 7-shipper in a V, so i'm wondering if that was a fluke or the population is pseudorandom? ie same save loaded, same jump to same planet results in teh same (initial) population by PR numbers? or was it just coincidence?!
