Is this some slang I don't know of?

Not at all. The post that McLane found basically had a different subject in each line. One of them was about urine.

 The mind boggles - thanks for the explanation though.

Thick and fast again tonight... just had another nasty porn image posted twenty minutes ago.
I think it was only up for a minute or less.

I just did a quick search, and found a post dealing with spam prevention: http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopic.php?t=427852

It's for v2, not v3, but some of the methods listed ought to be still useful. (Like hiding our user list, so they gain nothing from posting links in profiles.)

This is a thread for v3: http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopi ... 5&start=15

Thanks CR... I'll let the powers-that-be look at that, I'm way too tired to take it in.
In between katana'ing spammers, flight-testing an OXP, and trying in vain to fix my 'stick for 1.75, I'm nearly brain-dead.

Speaking of death, here's a worthy recipient:

With a name like that, it's begging for termination.

Every user’s first post must now be manually approved by a moderator. This doesn’t stop them from signing up, of course.

The problem with this is that there’s no way to get notifications of new users, so moderators have to either prowl the forums or look at the Moderator Control Panel a lot. Still, we’ll see how it goes.

I'll add "go to moderator panel" to the list of things I do when I first log on (like check all new members since I last logged on - I do this sometimes even before the other thing on the list - Visit reporting spam thread).

I noticed you'd banned gmail.org (http://whois.domaintools.com/gmail.org) and hotmail.org - is that the entire domain? Is hotmail.org not a genuine M$ one? (or is it that we're getting a flood of spammers coming from it and therefore genuine or not it has to go?)
