The vampire was already a nice ship - now it's a great ship - well done!

Nice ship KW

Thanks for the comments everyone.

I will try and add a few more darker planets to the mix, as for the pinkness it's due to all the screen-shots coming from the system data page for Lave which adds a pink hue to the rendered texture.

Murgh’s Torus station, beautifully re-vamped for 1.74 by Svengali:

Front view of a Vortex laying down heavy fire. If you were to ever see one this way in gameplay, you probably wouldn't be seeing it for very long. LOL

If you haven't already tried out the Personalities OXP, one of the fun things about it is getting to see the ships of assorted Oolite forum celebrities. You can even take screenshots so that unsuspecting and gullible folks may think you actually know important people in the game..(when actually these important personalities are usually saying "Who the frak is that whacknoodle and what does he think he's doing off our port bow??")

Image

...so there I am out in the middle of nowhere and who do I run into but Captain Hesperus himself in the "Dubious Profit"! Who, of course, immediately tried to sell me a trumble for 30 CR. My lights have gone red, since at this particular moment in history I am being attacked by a few pirates. They didn't mess with the Hesp, tho. Maybe they were afraid of being made into goat soup?

Image

...and there's commander Van Vliet in his worthy ship, "Dancing Star".

Image

Commander Svengali, in his spiffy Vector. Mysteriously, he was being escorted by a smaller ship I couldn't get into the picture. One of the Waka ships, I didn't think to jot down the name. They were on a secret mission of some sort, perhaps?

Image

When I was test-flying the Vortex, I happened to meet Commander Wyvern, patrolling in case anyone needs help with some pirates aboard the good ship "Persistence of Memory". Now that is one spooky looking Caduceus.. Here's another pic of it without me in the way.

Image

And what have I been up to lately? Well, I met a lot of friends of another sort. Or I like to think they were friends, since I gave them a safe ride back to the station. I collected up 17 of them, total. Had to jettison some computers to make room for them, but what are friends for, right? Most of those new friends were insured, as well, so that paid for a few repairs to my ship's Ironhide. LOL

I don’t know what’s become of the spacelanes, these days… there’s even a queue at the local rock hermit now, and those Worm drivers really do take it slowly… very, very slowly. I only just resisted the temptation to blast him out of the way.

Given the complexity of the docking bay, hell, go as slow as you like I'm just drinking in the eye candy. I often think that we could make a huge hangar where you fly past ship after ship before getting to the dock. Meh pie in the sky. One revolving slot is quite enough.

Prompted by a remark in another thread, I sought some nostalgia, installed Elite Plus in DosBox… and took a very old commander out for a spin. You know what… it moves fast and I enjoyed every retro minute… ahh, the memories.
