To the best of my understanding - If any part is carried over, it's a derivative work. Period. It has to be 100% from-scratch to not be a derivative.*CaptKev wrote:How much does an image need to be altered before it could be considered your own work?

Met this guy at Zadies, somewhere halfway between the planet and the W-beacon. He was shooting pirates, I joined in and when they were done, I was wondering where he was going so I followed him. Turns out he was on patrol; when he got to the W-beacon he turned around and started back for the planet. I followed and decided to take a photo. Took me ten minutes for alignment I was satisfied with. Now I have a new desktop background image
