Re: Elite: Dangerous - and buggies!
Buggies - or more correctly, SRVs! What can I say?
As for Linux, Diz - I reckon they'd have got more sales from Penguinistas than from Mac users!

I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills

I wonder how many Mac users adopted the same plan as I have.Cody wrote:Buggies - or more correctly, SRVs! What can I say?

I watched the PC release whilst they were producing the Mac port. I viewed the initial release as unfinished, and lacking several things I wanted from the game, but fully expected them to appear quite quickly.
By the time the Mac port was available these were not in place but several feature I had no interest in had appeared from nowhere. This was followed by others that I have absolutely no interest in. Further there is what appears to be poor development and a probably unplayable expansion has reduced my interest further.
So I still haven't bought it and suspect that I never will. I'm maintaining my watching brief but they are not progressing in the direction I want them to - This is not necessarily wrong for them, just not right for me.

What, the buggies? Horizons Beta, if you have access - Horizons release, if not.

Reckon so - full release planned for 16th December, would be my guess.

Humph! I could have sworn I removed myelf from the E: D mailing list. It seems that I've now had to remove myself from a second mailing list.kanthoney wrote:It's Frontier's new self-published game that they're developing. <Deep breath>Oh well. As my boss has said in the past, always suspect incompetence over conspiracy. Then again, what does that say about FDEV?

They've just announced that the Horizons beta will be released (hopefully) on the 24th November. There'll be another beta (for 1.5) next week.

<nods> I'm hoping that the planetary approach/dirtside module will be free - but I fear it may not be.

A figure of speech - three years along the way/further down the line/older. <grins>maik wrote:Three years on?
In other news, the latest Horizons trailer is here - zoom-out from a misty crater.
