Re: Reporting spam
I guess the board being down for almost a week at least keeps the spammers at bay.
Does the new version of PHP improve our general spam retardant capabilities? I'm not complaining, but wouldn't like to be out of work any time soon...

I splashed two in the early hours of this morning… they’re still out there.

Cool… I’ve been awarded the Katana, which I have just wielded for the first time… sweet!

Re: Reporting spam
In fact, you’ve been arbitrarily named Master Assassin, as seen in the new guildhall.
I don’t remember now, but I’m guessing you were made a moderator purely for spam duty, right? If so, I want to run an experiment on you…

As they used to say in the good old days: IAK,YMWCG!
"Actually this is a common misconception... I do *not* in fact have a lot of time on my hands at all! I just have a very very very very bad sense of priorities."

EV - I presume you've just splashed: Iamvanpierse
Ahruman via PM has noted that we've been sensibly tugged back to Global Moderators from previous Admin role - I feel sleeker and less burdened already...

I think you and DaddyHoggy now have permission to delete accounts, and a few other things, without being full admins.El Viejo wrote:Yeah, absolutely right. An experiment?... go ahead, sir.

Re: Reporting spam
The bb now has a ‘captcha’ thingy for new registrations. The half dozen 'suspects' that I’ve splashed in the last two days have obviously passed that little test, so I presume this means that they’re not bots, but live spammers. Is this correct? Or are bots somehow getting past the ‘captcha’ thingy?
