Commander McLane, is there a compatibility issue with Personalities and Oolite 1.75? Note: I do not have 1.75.1.
Yes, there is since 1.74, I believe. A major update of the OXP is due, anyway.

Cruising galaxy two on course for another RandomHit at Maisso. Upon exiting witchspace in the Inbibe system found myself witness to two groups of pirates attacking a Python convoy. Pretty close quarters if all these guys start shooting at me and that is what happened. Both shields getting quite low so I hit the injectors to gain some distance on one group. But now it's their turn to suffer as I picked them apart with the aft laser. Then I turned my attention to the other group and gave them what for. When the laser glow dissipated I found myself surrounded in a sea of cargo canisters. I was empty so I scooped them, all 26 in my cargo hold plus a couple escaping pirates for a nice profit. What a game!

Great Tale Sky Warrior..worthy of an Eagle Feather! You are welcome to my Hogan anytime... Your name will be placed among those who walk in the Monster slayer's moccassins.
When I count coup against you, I will have earned it against a formidable foe.

Thank you Yah-Ta-Hey. As Clint Eastwood said in "The Outlaw Josey Wales", we shall be friends (Kola in Dakota Sioux).

Trying to rebuild the cash reserves after trading in the trusty CobraIII for a Dragon AN to celebrate hitting 1000 kills. I've been hoping back and forth between Esmaonbe and lezaer moderately profitably but on the run in to Esmanobe there always seem to be a few suicidal pirates. However the fourth run in was absolutely infested, I'd already downed 15 of them and failed to chase down a Dragon Se, which jumped away and something else, when I came across a massed group of 9, a fugitive Kirin XM and its escorts. Lots of judicious use of the rear military laser and the fuel injectors later only the Kirin and a single escort remained. How much firepower can those ships absorb, keeping out of range of the plasma turrets is also quite a challenge. Running in and out between about 5 and 20 k giving enough time for each of the lasers to cool eventually proved sufficient and I was able to limp with several systems down, battered and bruised, but exultant into the station. I'd taken down a Kirin and survived. After making the repairs at the next stop I didn't make a profit though! Maybe it's time to go back to hunting, after all that's what the Dragons for...

Eep... Pirate Kirin XM... Far too many of those around for my tastes, security really needs to be tightened up on those. Nice work on dealing with one and all it's escorts.
On a lighter note, last night I was attempting to disable an errant Cobra Courier, when he launched a Military Missile at me. 'Uh-oh'. My ACS triggers chaff and ECM and I watch the Military Missile loop right from the launcher directly to his engines. 'What the...'? And then it dawns on me. When a Military Missile is hit with ECM it triggers a search and destroy routine, targeting Thargoids or Pirate IFF. Oops.

I'm curious, are you credited for the kill when this happens?

Gimi, I am pretty sure I did *not* get any credit. After all I did not make the kill shot, he shot himself

So… after another period of being grounded, I hit the ’lanes again in Rolling Thunder. I hitched a ride behind this old Python, and found myself in interstellar space, surrounded by Thargoid warships… damn tube-breakers got us both. One helluva firefight ensued, but the Python and Rolling Thunder emerged victorious… brothers-in-arms, so to speak. That’s when it got harsh… the poor Python had nowhere to go… I followed it around for some time, but eventually I had to witchspace out, leaving the unfortunate Python and its pilot stranded. Another ghost, to join all those others who have gone crazy in interstellar space, adrift in the sheer vastness of the Ooniverse, without a way back. Hey… it’s tough out there!
Unless of course, the Python hitched a ride out in my tube... cool!

What? You didn't even have the common decency to offer him/her/it a ride in your hold along with his/hers/its former cargo?
(Second brain cell chiming in: Do NPCs even eject in WS at all?)

I don't quite know how but I find myself on the wrong side of the law at the moment. I'm having to fend off multiple waves of hostiles. It always gives me a slight pause to open fire on a 'Clean' hostile...
Anyway, I'm in G3, and jumped into the Dianed system when I spied what must have been an ambush at the 25km limit of the scanner. My Boa presents quite a large profile to attackers so I slowed to about 25% and proceeded to paint each of the 6 attackers with my target reticle.
Hmm...a couple of FDLs, a Mamba, a Cobra I & III and a Python, all Offenders. Time to spring the trap. Edging towards the ships at 50% one of the FDLs pounced and went red on my scanner. Spinning the ship around I started sniping the attacker with the rear military laser.
With that, it was all on. The occasional miss with the laser on the FDL would sometimes hit one of the other members of the wolf pack, turning them red on my scanner, and causing them to attack with vigour.
Once my rear laser had maxxed out on heat, there was nothing for it but to turn and face the lot of them. By this time an FDL and the Cobra I were debris tumbling in space, and I was methodically targetting each attacker in turn and dishing out hot photons and bashing my ECM. Thank goodness they didn't have any hardheads.
It was the work of a few minutes to take care of the lot of them and then I found myself floating amidst a dozen or so canisters of booty.
It was then that I saw the little red triangle below my fuel scoop. Cargo hold full. Arrrrggghhh!!!!!
