We're a bit behind now - I sent the ads for set H to Ark, but he's not been around much, and all the stuff you've seen recently is for Set I, which I'm assembling on my machine ready for packaging.

I'll watch this thread, and when I see that "Set I" is ready, I'll download and install.

Completely random and off the top of my head, but it strikes me that even though I have the oxps installed, I don't tend to stop and stare at the ads themselves. Which I think is a bit of a shame, considering the time and effort that's gone in to making them. So I wonder if it would be possible to make a catalog, maybe in pdf format or so, where it would be easier to view them in a more user friendly way than trawling through the 100 odd pages of this thread, or opening up the oxp itself... Just an idea, of course, as I know absolutely nothing about how to do such a thing. But maybe something to think about...

That's a great idea!

There are literally hundreds of ads, and in the OXP folders they are paired, as in two ads pr texture. At the rate which new ads are appearing, a catalogue would be quickly outdated, but if someone has the time to keep this updated, by all means.
I have just jumped into the texture folder and looked through all of them and I had quite a few good laughs while doing that.

I could probably do this - although of course the ads are quite small when in pdf format - only being 256x128, I've got hi-res versions of (most) of my own work (certainly all the more recent stuff).
I'll see what I can do.
I plan is also to produce a gazeteer combing ads from YAH plus stories from "Tales from the Spacelanes" - but RL(tm) keeps getting in the way!

I feel your pain. If only I had more time to spend on Oolite and the BB.

just use some sort of slide show on the texture folders.

As of yet there is no official texture for the ship so I just reached for the bucket fill tool in GIMP...

True enough, to be able to simply view them. A pdf similar to ad pages from a magazine would be nice though. More immersive. What DaddyHoggy says about combining this with "Tales from the spacelanes" would be perfect.

To be honest, I quite like the texturing in the ad! The lighter veins running through it remind me of a sort of stealth ship camouflage...

I might actually make an alternate texture that looks like the one in the ad...

Crazy that this thread is still running 1700+ replies and nearly five years on.
Thumbs up to all you who have maintained and developed this OXP. Keep up the good work.

I spent 8 hours on the motorway yesterday, courtesy of the Bank Holiday weekend's Friday traffic. Staring at overhead gantry signs prompted these:
Not being able to sleep prompted this one:
