LOL, I flew the day before yesterday half the evening to get Reenus in my list of "explored planets". And then this question pops up.

Both Reenus and the system I'm looking for are agricultural feudal worlds, but they also share another property which is of distinct military importance to the system's inhabitants.
That must be the fact that it can be reached from only one single neighbour.

Correct. And since that would have been a big hint to anyone familiar with the series, I guess no-one is and it's time for some more clues:

The nobility of the planet are mostly descended from Russian colonists (though three other European groups are also represented in the population) and are denoted by a short prefix added to their surnames. The ruler's surname shares this prefix, of course.

It is due to the colonial ambitions of the planet that the protagonist of the story meets her future husband, a military tactician (among other things).

Still no-one? Okay. More clues, then:

The book in which these events occur was published in June 1986. The most recent story in the series was released last month. Neither story has the same protagonist as the main protagonist of the series as a whole.

The protagonist of this story is a wormhole surveyor from Earth's second colony (and oldest surviving colony). Back in those days, they named their colonies systematically.

Right book, author and planet. Close enough on the person.

Good series, and apparently considerably more obscure than I thought it was!

Your turn.

I could probably guess that you may have meant his wife Cordelia Vorkosigan, nee Nesmith then.

Thanks for the "bye".

OK. This one's a little "left field". Recently, a former cast member of an iconic sci fi television series called for the fans of that series and the fans of another science fiction franchise (films, this time) to join forces against a common evil.

Name the two franchises, "common evil" and the organisation that has been founded for the cause.

i think I first found out about this here, so it should be an easy one. I mention it because it has provided much mirth for the last couple of weeks.

I was thinking of Emperor Ezar Vorbarra, as the ruler of Barrayar at the time of that story, so your second guess was less close.

This will be George Takei (Sulu) who is rallying both Star Trek and Star Wars fans against 'Twilight'. I can't remeber what the organision is called, though. :(

Correct! The Star Alliance was formed in 2011 to ask fans of Star Trek and Star Wars to set aside their decades old conflict and unite against a common enemy: Twilight. I'll give you it, since a simple google search will reveal the rest.

An example of their teachings: "Star Trek is about people of all species finding common ground and working together in a bright future: Twilight is about how cool it is to have a boyfriend".

<shudder>

Join the fight.

George Takei did not know there already was another Star Alliance?

Probably. Not sure if he knows about this one though:

Although the logo seems like something he would approve of.
