Got your suggestions. Added a bunch to the list and gave you thanks

On a related topic, is there such a thing as ‘gas mining’ or ‘atmosphere mining’ in ED, a la Bespin? There would be another slang set to go with that.
No, just fuel scooping for now. But who knows what the future may bring?

Speaking of fuel scooping - is that the only way to refuel in-flight? The old FE2/FFE way of transferring fuel out of a can of hydrogen in the hold doesn't work on my current ship, but given the equipment it came with that could just be because I don't have a Basic Refuelling Pipe installed yet.
(I've finally got around to upgrading my system to be able to run Elite: Dangerous. If any of you are in the boring non-descript bit of Federal space over a hundred light years from anywhere famous maybe I'll see you around...)

I don't think that's possible yet. I'd have heard if it was (I imagine many explorers would have an emergency supply as a result)

I'll be sure to keep an eye out for you when I get back. Friend me in-game in the meantime

Name me a system - if I'm nearby (unlikely), I'll pop over and waggle my Cobra's wings as my invisible island drifts past. <grins wryly>

Lieledos, for the night. It's a couple of hundred LY from Teorge, so probably not on your way.

I'm currently parked-up at Tereshkova Enterprise, which is 175ly from Lieledos, so definitely not on my way!
Mind you, I don't exactly know which is 'my way' - I'm kinda meandering around aimlessly, learning on the job.

You've finally ditched your old clunker?
Next thing you know, we'll be hearing you've bought a joystick!
(seriously though, congrats.. I'm still trying to accumulate the credits to build an ED-capable machine)

Thanks Mossfoot. You might want to do a quick formatting scan of the list, 'Tick Hole is attached to 'These Parts' and it looks like 'Licker' is missing from 'Rock Licker/Rock Hopper'. Thanks for including 'Fly Catching', I quite like that term
(from the NZ slang terms list).

If you were exploring, you'd be known as 'going walkabout'
Slowly trying to put my desktop back together so I can run ED. It's a bit of a 'Pantene experience', I'm sure I'll be let loose in the galaxy sometime, just not tomorrow

I reckon 'gone walkabout' sums it up nicely, as I am indeed exploring!

I know most of the world only knows the term because of Crocodile Dundee, but I think "walkabout" is one of the greatest words ever for a traveller/explorer

Fixed the formatting, thanks.
I'd actually meant to get rid of "rock licker" because I don't want to get too bogged down in alternate terms (which is starting to happen, I'll need to start being far more selective
).

Stuff Crocodile Dundee -
Walkabout is a pretty good tale (both novel and film)!

I have to admit to a fondness for the Scots word "stravaig", meaning to wander, sometimes with an extra overtone meaning to wander around with an eye out for what opportunity may bring ...

I didn't know the word 'stravaig', but the 'eye out for an opportunity' thing reminds me of a Scot I once knew:
'Open window! Very handy - I'll just nip in!'
Meanwhile, back on topic: an ED-related nVidia
competition!

Heh.. with a rapidly-moving target as the correct answer, no less!
As per usual, people south of the equator are not eligible to enter. I guess the southern hemisphere doesn't really exist.
