Wouldn't it be more Oolite/Elite to have the Cobra spinning?

Now you're just being picky!
By the way - under Gallery:
New nebulae, with the subletly cranked down. Also, you can now play Oolite in Italian.
Subletly = Subtlety?

The Download link does not seem to work for me. I get a dialog asking me to save a document named "Download". Running on IE6.

It Lives!
However, two 'links' in the about page (to MacWorld UK & TechRadar.com) are going nowhere atm...
Edit: A_C, which link exactly? Do you mean
http://www.oolite.org/download
or do you mean the berlios download link?
if it's the first, changing that link to
http://www.oolite.org/download/ (note the extra / at the end - and changing address translation accordingly) should stop ie6 from being 'helpful'...
alternatively, it might be better to forget address translation altogether and use
http://www.oolite.org/download.shtml , etc...

Yet another minor nit-pick: the cobra background on the index page (cobra.png) seems to use a different black to the page background. Since it's a png, it might well be better to change the png's black background so it's transparent instead. ie6 will still show the transparent bits as 'png black', but with more recent browsers nobody will see any black-on-black square anymore...

Stop exposing my secret projects. ;-)

That’s odd. I can only echo Kaks’s question, except to note that the trailing slash won’t work.

Fixed.

The problem is with
http://www.oolite.org/download. It seems to work OK if I change the link to
http://www.oolite.org/download.shtml.

Thanks! However the about page is still missing links:
should be
Code: Select all
<a href="http://www.macworld.co.uk/macsoftware/reviews/index.cfm?reviewid=2154">Macworld UK</a>
and
should be
Code: Select all
<a href="http://www.techradar.com/news/gaming/10-best-free-pc-games-you-should-play-today-619129?artc_pg=2">TechRadar.com,
also I can confirm ie 'helpfulness' with the
http://www.oolite.org/download link - the identical problem happens in ie7 too. changing the link from
to
everywhere will get ie7 - and presumably ie6 and all m$ progeny too - to behave like a real browser....

*Shakes fist, curses name of Gates unto nth generation, divers alarums*
Do all the other pages work?
Did the old site work?

Yep!
Yep, afaik!
Edit: all working ok with ie7 now!
However, for aestetic reasons it might be better to have the about link changed to about.shtml etc...

Yes to both questions from me.

A_C, is everything working ok for you too now?
If not, you might have to do a shift -F5 (refresh) to clear ie6's cache...

If it helps, everything is working on the latest Firefox 3.6.3

Thanks EV! I'm pretty sure all other non-m$ browsers (opera, safari, chrome, konqueror, you name it) are going to be ok too.
Hopefully by the time ie12 is out, m$ will have stopped 'improving' on web standards...

Yep, it looks all is good now. Me->happy.
Edit: Ehm, almost. Works OK from all pages except the very first one (with Drew's text). Clicking download from that screen brings up the "helpful" dialog.
