Very nice - works well! It does clash very slightly with the BGS background image on the long-range chart though - I presume that'll need a tweak in BGS. It also seems to remove the waypoint marker after game exit and restart - I suppose I'll have to live without it. <sobs gently>
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills

Just tried it, my new power pack just arrived to, If I was a lot younger I believe the correct response to this innovation is -

"Squeeeeeeeee!" :o

How ever being old -

"Seduce my ancient footwear, that's bloody good!"

EDIT: Just like to add that since having a good couple of hours playing on yon larger laptop I am particularly enamoured of the 'shield effects' OXZ. It really adds to the immersiveness.....and that map...I find myself getting.......slightly moist. :shock:

New charts are fantastic! however, they do break the Long Range Scanner. Which used to be activated with F-6 F-6 F-5.

I don't mind re-assigning to another key or combination if someone can point out where and how... please?

The problem there is the OXP checks to see if F5 is pressed while the screen is on the long range chart. Unfortunately, the long range chart as such doesn't exist any more, so nothing happens.

The relevant code is line 164 in the file lrScanner.js of the OXP:

Code: Select all

if(to == "GUI_SCREEN_STATUS" && from == "GUI_SCREEN_LONG_RANGE_CHART")
If you change the LONG to SHORT:

Code: Select all

if(to == "GUI_SCREEN_STATUS" && from == "GUI_SCREEN_SHORT_RANGE_CHART")
it should work. As a bonus, you'll only have to press F6 once.

Is it worth perhaps faking those guiScreenChanged events from short->long and back again, when the quick zoom happens, to make OXP compatibility easier?

I was looking at that last night but the long range chart kept disappearing, and it was getting late so I went to bed. I think I know how to fix that, so I'll try again leter.

Thanks for fixing the long-range destination thingy in those new-fangled charts - it seems to work as before now.

I've now fixed the chart so it works with the long range scanner OXP without having to tweak it. That should be in tonight's build.

I wonder if it is possible to add the regions and trade routes from the Clymangus maps like 'Old Worlds' etc to the map. BGS had them on the long range chart.

I like the way they appear as and when you move about the charts - cool stuff by Svengali.

Yeah so it should be cool if this new map also gets that sort of features.

Also in addition wouldn't it be nice if you cross the border of a region or if you are on a trade route that there would be a message. "Welcome to the Old Worlds". Only on the border planets of a region of course. Or "Commander you are now on Space Lane 1".

Guys, the regions and trade routes are OXP stuff, not core.

I like that idea. Should be added to the relevant OXP :D
