I don't think it ever will come out, I too am 45 years old, Ian and Dave can't agree on anything. some of the ships where Ian's coding, and others where dave's

unless both agree on usage, and an equitable royalty split, then I don't see anything happening with the game... I see the Universe ending, before Ian and Dave agree on anything else.....lol.
Why would they have to agree? Elite 2 and 3 were created and released solely by Dave's company, which is the same company that has been working on Elite 4 for so many years. What does Ian have to do with it?

I'm almost (99.99%) certain it won't ever happen.

Cheers,

I think a_c's point was that they have been claiming to working on getting around to it for several years. We have no way of knowing how much basis in reality this claim had at any point.

Insofar the only thing we know to be certainly true is your second sentence.

Because anything that makes use of Ian's ship coding/designs, would have to have his express aproval, thats why he recieved royalties for Elite 2, the reason for the Hostility between the 2 is first encounters, was suposed to be an add on, which Ian wouldn't recieve royalties for, (which was agreed) then dave turned around and made it a stand alone game, which he SHOULD have recieved royalties for, subject to the Agreement between the 2 (from what I read on Ian's site)

(I am not a lawyer) but from reading Ians blog which to be fair only gives his side of the story this is what I understand.... If I'm understanding things wrong please tell me.

anyways I don't believe Elite 3 will ever happen, for whatever reason......

I finally encountered the Constrictor yesterday. After a lengthy dog fight with it I was assaulted by a hoard of pirates and they destroyed me. Is that my chance gone or am I likely to meet the Constrictor again?

If you load the last savegame, shouldn't you meet it again in the same system where it was ?

That's exactly what I expected to happen. But if the Constrictor did appear I never saw it and it certainly didn't attack me.

Then it's in another system probably, if you still have the note about the constrictor hunt in your manifest screen where the other missions are listed.
What I did was taking a screenshot of the maybe 20ly radius around the system I was put to in g2, and then marked every system I visited in an image editing program. That way you sure have to come through the right system.
There was a hint about the constrictor being in that system where it was when visiting the main station, had it not attacked me right away when I happened to jump in. (So you know it's not there if this hint is missing.)

I need Help.

When i got the briefing in Galaxy one i had some passengers that each paid >10000 Cr, so i first dropped them off on the other side of the Galaxy before beginning the hunt in Xeer. Does that affect the hunt?

My second problem is that after 10 or so Jumps in Galaxy 2 i must have accidentally hit the Galhyp-key without realizing. I did allready overwrite the Savegame so i just can go through the whole cycle. The ship can only be found in galaxy 2, right?
