Heyho,
this time I have two requests for the Guild.
- I could need some testers for a new Cabal_Common version. Prefered are users with slower machines as I need to know how much impact the new stuff has. It is a feature to get more infos about the current galaxy - collected are only primitives (boolean, integer, string) and the coordinates to find connected systems. Testing is fairly simple. Just run the new version and watch your Latest.log for timeouts. Repeat the same with a galactic jump.
- The second request is specifically for ATI users with shader support running trunk. I'm currently working on a set of shaders for animations and I need to know about compatibility to ATI cards. A demo and screenshot how it should look like is already prepared so you'll only need to watch your Latest.log and compare the rendered output with the screenshot.
If interested just give me a pm to get the downloads .-)

And I've got another piece of kit that needs some testing, as it may be another problematic one for ghosts and generally driving certain of our Commanders systems mad.
Anyone available for some trial duties? If so please PM for a download link.

And another one - this time just a bit of scripting.
I was pondering why equipment in the general game can only get damaged and not destroyed, so I wrote a script to give some chance of equipment getting totally destroyed on damage.
Anyone up for some testing, specifically whether the chance of destruction is too low (or high) and whether there are any bad interactions with other OXPs? If so, drop me a PM.

Just a mention here about Switeck's Testing OXPs.

and if box isn't working:

These cheating OXPs are what I use to test other OXPs.
They're mainly mobility-related, such as the ability to move around a system quickly, though LongRangeScanner OXP is a better choice in general if the system isn't too cluttered.
They're also useful for hyperspacing quickly to distant systems in the same Galaxy Chart, even if these systems are not normally reachable. (Note: I haven't found a way to reach the isolated systems in Galaxy Chart 6...nor is there an escape route back from the isolated systems in Galaxy Charts 3 and 8.)

Once I have correctly set up prototype version and carried out some self testing would anyone be interested in testing a pre-release version of the Serpent Class Cruiser ?
The pre-release version would only have a simple texture but other than that should more or less be what I intend to release as a finished oxp.
I would be particularity interested in feedback from people flying Pythons, Boas, Boa 2s with comments on how it compares to these ships however feedback from anyone interested would be equally valuable.

Thanks Rese249er - I'll aim to get a pre-release version ready for release for sometime later this evening.
I'll PM you with a download link if that's ok.
Once you have had a play around with it any feedback would be much apprecited.

A full assessment is in your inbox. For the benefit of others, I'll sum it up here.
He's not getting this ship back. She's MINE.

My <-Wide-Screen-> HUD, the first Oolite HUD designed specifically and only for screens with 8:5 and 16:9 aspect ratios, is almost finished. I'm hoping someone with a wide screen and a ooniverse with great graphics (Griff, Staer9, Povray Planets, etc.) would like to test it and contribute some great screen shots to be used on
its wiki page.

Wish I could help you, but my comp runs the other end of the graphics spectrum.

Ah well,
its wiki page is still a half-written mess, but there's a download link at the bottom of it that now works.
Try it out, folks, you might like it. The piccies I've got so far don't do it justice, it's not nearly that ugly on a big screen. Particularly try it out if you're using Oolite 1.77, as it makes use of a new technique not available in 1.76 (but only for decoration, all the features work in 1.76).

Interesting... I'll give it a whirl. I've only a 4:3 ratio, but meh.
